finally saw it just now & knew I could hop right to the last page in this thread to find dorks still whining about that brief “girl power” moment, or whatever you wanna call it. sherdog so predictable.

Surprisingly little mention of the representation they really really really wanted to include with the homosexual character. One -- ONE -- one poster shot of a bunch of women is cramming social justice down throats, yet rando gay date story in the middle of superhero time travel hoedown is organic and natural.

Because it was a meaningless scene . I chuckled a bit because I knew that was Joe Russo , its the second time he played a character in the MCU he also was the Doctor that treated Fury then Black Widow in Winter Soldier, now he is random Gay Duuuude, sure Joe , sure.

I seem to recall someone saying the girls scene disrupted like the narrative flow of the final battle. Was that you?

It did . But I'm probably not the only one that said that. You probably didn't read that from me , all I said is that it was forced and obvious .

What is the difference between throwaway versus forced and obvious? Both are conspicuous enough, also short enough.

It seems like plot placement is what makes the difference for you?

sometimes the insecure man children just need to grow up & come to terms w/ the fact that not everything in this kids movie is put there for you. there was a large group of like 12ish year old boys in my theater who were audibly excited during that moment in the action. unfortunately for me they made sure to let the whole theater know every time they were excited about a character or characters doing something cool or whatever, but that’s besides the point.

It was annoying that they shoehorned that in the middle of the Big Battle. So what the Fuck were all the Male characters Doing "Go Get em Girls "

The lines spoken were so cringey " Don't worry she's got help" I cringe just think it. Worst part is that they were supposed to be clearing a path for CM. The Bitch just flew through the Fucking Intergalactic Warship , it's clear she doesn't need help.

The more I think about it the more I dislike CM and that scene.

Women here in SE Asia (Thailand and Vietnam) just laugh at that scene and think it's cheesy.

And anecdotally that's the response I get from every woman I talk to (both local and tourist) without even bringing up that scene- I say that I think the future of the MCU is geared more towards girls - the first thing they do is laugh and say "Oh yeah there was that weird all girl scene"

Maybe if I were still in California I'd be hearing a lot of cheers and hell yeahs from girls about it....

sure, it was definitely hokey, but I’m not gonna get all bent out of shape by it. it’s not like that entire battle was free of other hokey ass moments either.

The casting for the MCU has been ridiculously good throughout.
Not really a single miscast, and a few homeruns. They will never, ever be able to recreate it, even though shallow execs will want to.

Maybe the doctor was gay? lol

The biggest unanswered question.
Did the avengers try the stew thanos was making in the beginning of the movie?

I wonder how many times the word shoehorned has been thrown around in the last 189 pages.....
