The excitement will taper off until the next big event. Which is normal. Movies like IW, EG take 10 years to build up to that excitement.

Just like how the original 6 were introduced with chracter development along the way, recent and new characters will go through the same thing.

I think it'll also get a new fanbase as well. I think the fans who grew attachment to the originals during the first 10, which ever character they're attached to doesnt stick around is going to tune in here n there until the next big event

Yeah, but the problem is, the original 6 were close to being household names. The next group aren't even close to that. I hope they keep doing well though.

thx. Had not seen that.

Here is a scene by scene breakdown with speculation on that trailer for those who want to see it.

Great detail breakdown.

Cant wait for this post apocalyptic movie

They all but confirmed they are trying to pass the torch of "face of the MCU" from Tony Stark to Captain Marvel. I wonder if the audience aren't as receptive to Captain Marvel as they hope, they'll instead switch the leadership focus to Black Panther.

They didn't expect Black Panther to make as much as it did and that may spark some changes.

Out the 6 the most mainstream character would be hulk in comparison to the other characters, but MCU did well with the rest and took time to build them up and didnt rush things.

10 years of being the longest and largest shared successful cinamtic universe no one couldve of guessed that was gonna happen when Iron Man was first introduced.

The next phase is getting the rights to deadpool, xmen universe and F4 as well so there's another bonus.

Last paragraph is what I'm hoping for. A proper reboot of F4 and X-Men is needed. Need to wash the stench of mediocrity/failure off from the Sony attempts.

We all do

If MCU wants to play it safe. They should have a female and male face.

They did just fine having two white dudes as the face of the MCU the last 10 years: Tony and Cap.

That should tell them that they don't need to play it safe

I think you will see Black Panther central regardless for the reason you cite but also because cross over between BP and Dr Strange makes so much sense particularly once they bring F4 into the Universe and can start creating the Illuminati angle.

But yes they would love a strong female character to lead the next stage and will give that every chance to develop.

This is disappointing. I thought if was going to be a trailer for Justice League 2.

Another thing to note is BP being the leader of the Avengers in the current run in the comics

So Captain Black America or Red, White, and Blue Panther?
<Jaime01>

They would be smart to go with BP as the new leader with Dr. Strange as his 2nd in command. BP is literally Cap and Ironman rolled into one. Strange would provide the mystic mojo the team lacked which would undoubtedly help strategically. I know they both have their personal missions to tend to, but globally it makes sense.

And screw anything else!! The very first movie I better see in the next phase is.......

Ya i think it is actually hard to make the most powerful characters also the inspirational leaders.

You see Starlord leading the GOTG for the same reason. We normal humans like to see a normal'ish human punching above their weight. So Cap and Tony and Starlord and BP make more sense.

But why? Why is having a strong female lead so important they have to force it? It's not likely they're in a slump and in a desperate need to shake things up. What they've been doing has been working and working well.

Pushing a strong female lead who isn't her own person, but essentially a representation of "female empowerment", clearly is having a backlash that wasn't present when Cap and Tony were the stars. You'd think that would be a signal to pull back but it's like they'll get some sort of super cool merit badge if they shove Captain Marvel down everyone's throats.

On top of that Captain Marvel from what I understand has battles in space similar to Thor. So I don't think she'll be staying around Earth all the time like BP will. IMO it should be BP and Strange who take over. Let Marvel be like Thor.

They did but I was just stating having at least a male face in there would be better than going all out woman face.

If you look at the history of comic books there is constant reinvention even in a time when things did not move as fast as they do toadys and when people did not have the ADD they have today.

They spent 10 years building this arc and they won't spend the next 10 years doing it basically the same again.

Marvel was a leader in creator this type of Universe and they won't sit on their laurels and let DC and others catch up. I think they will be bold and continue to make big moves. And they have their eye on what is happening in society. Women and minorities are taking an increasingly bigger role in society and the MCU is not going to stay behind that curve as an almost all white boys club, even though the inventory of top characters they have are predominantly white males. That worked in the 60's and 70's and beyond as Marvel rose to prominence and no one wanted to see anything but White Males in all the top roles in comics, TV and movies and more. That is not the reality today as the viewer and buying power changes.

Yup that is exactly how I think they will use her.

Many of the current big names will be used less if not retired or killed off mainly due to the massive pay their contracts now demand. I think you will see CM, taking over the Thor role doing solo space adventures tangling with bigger threats and helping to introduce them into the MCU and then joining the Avengers when needed for the big reunion movies. Thor will be off taking care of the remnants of the Asgardian people and only brought back very rarely

I think you will see BP, AntMan, Spidey, and many of the returning Marvel properties focused on in this next 10 years.

Apparently it's still working today because the MCU lead by Cap and Tony is huge and in the comics, they recently brought the OGs Steve, Tony and Thor back together for the Avengers.

Meanwhile Captain Marvel comics aren't doing well and the upcoming movie is getting mixed reception.

It's great to see strong black characters like BP but I don't want t be pandered to. I don't want to see a black lead that's a representation of a cause, rather than being his/her own person. Also, even though I'm black, I still enjoy characters like Tony, Thor and Strange because they're good characters. I'm not hyper-focused on race and gender like loudmouth bloggers seem to think I am.
