I havent read any of those so that doesn't give me much to go on. it he just weak or do you want him killing innocents or something? I have no idea but am genuinely curious.

They've gone with a Nerfed Proffesor Hulk version, which is a weak version of the Character and he didn't even get a chance to redeem himself vs Thanos, the last time we see Savage Hulk is him getting embarrassed by Thanos and then being too scared to even face Thanos' minions in Wakanda. MCU Hulk is terrible.

Can one of you comic book nerds tell me if there was any relation or variant between Tony Stark and Victor Von Doom or is this completely randomm

As far as I know, there's no deep relation between Tony and Victor.

They had a big fight in Doomquest back in 1981. They've had a few run-ins after that.

There was a What If? issue where Tony and Victor swapped identities.

Back in 2016, Doom wanting to redeem himself, took up the mantle of Iron Man after the events of Civil War II in what is known as the Infamous Iron Man saga.

They didn't need a gimmick. VVD could be their greatest baddie on traditional lore.

The Hollywood big shots would treat Dr. Doom like single use paper towel... not unlike Mandarin.

No deep relation on the comic book side but from a movie business side, this is sort of a full circle moment as RDJ was in talks to play Doctor Doom in the first Fantastic Four movie (2005).

Robert Downey Jr. Announced as Doctor Doom!

Okay... as long as there's some explanation as to why Dr Doom looks exactly like Iron Man... well okay.

And of course RDJ has to use a different way of speaking, different mannerisms, different.... everything. I think the only aspect both characters have is common is they're both geniuses.

I think Robert Downey Jr. is playing a Doctor Doom variant from the alternate Fantastic 4 universe. At some point, the team and Doom will probably arrive in the 616 Marvel Universe.
My guess would be that Downey Jnr will be playing some kind of alternate Tony Stark(even if he's not called that) who becomes Doom, perhaps also somehow usurping Kang's role? I spose those two things could potentially be combined?

Even if it does mean significant shifts to Doom I do think this casting probably means the MCU will take the role seriously and not use it as a one and done generic villian, Downy Jnr seems happy to mostly do MCU films as his big roles.

The Russo's are also very good as taking plots which look overly complex and making them work well.

All of this looks like Disney has learned from ALOT of their mistakes from Phase 4.

*Many of the lesser-known characters like Captain Marvel, Shang-Chi, & The Eternals mainstream audiences have little to no interest in.

*The MCU should have TWO major movies per year, possibly a popular lesser-known third that audiences know that was introduced in the major movie - Like how Black Panther was introduced in Civil War.

*I can't be sure, but I am hopeful that Disney has learned their lesson about shoving leftist social issues & DEI down audiences throats... in their major releases... and will probably keep it regulated to their Disney+ series.

MCU Hulk is a disgrace to the Character.

MCU's Hulk has definitely been disappointing. They really don't know what to do with the character.

Incredible Hulk 2008 is the closest we've seen to the awesomeness of Hulk in the comics, who was nearly an uncontrollable WMD and quite possibly the most destructive non-magical force in the Marvel Universe.

RDJ as doom will either be sick cuz doom is the goat, or terrible with MCU desperately trying to hang on by having a fan favorite actor.
Super desperate.
This is stupid and reeks of desperation.

Hope it's a joke.

It'll never happen, but they should just stop. This is sad. I haven't cared about a superhero movie in almost a decade. Indifference at what they're doing at least leaves what they did intact. Now they're starting the race to ruin what they did before by making stupid decisions and shitty movies. Also kind of bummed that RDJ is even agreeing to do this.

same, tbh. even though Disney probably showed up on his doorstep w/ a trucks of enough cash he could buy himself his own private island in the Caribbean

This is not 2006, such firewalls might not work.
