Social Automotive stereotypes ( peoples' perception of the owners of certain vehicles and brands)

You've been driving long enough to know this is all in your head right? :)
Nope. I've been driving long enough to know it's not. Pickup Truck drivers have a well earned reputation of being dickheads on the road. If you don't notice, it's probably because you're one of those heathens.

Hey, at least I didn't say you had a tiny dick.

Maybe it applies to North America. A lot of American drivers get trucks but they really don't use it. There are also scenarios where a minivan might be better than a Truck. No guy really wants to drive a minivan.
We call those trucks Pavement Princesses,
All for look and will never see a day of dirt or anything tossed in the cargo bed.

These types of trucks pretty much took over the fast n furious street cars from the early 00’s..

Americans are so bored with their lives that they find thing nobody else does in sports politics and just about anything and transportation is one of things they enjoy brain storm about

Wow. There are plenty of "dickheads on the road" to not proclaim all pickup truck drivers to be the worst of the worst.

I've been almost ran off the road by plenty of idiots in SUVs and sports cars to worry specifically about other pickup truck drivers.

Hey, at least I didn't say you can suck my . . . . oh wait . . .

Friend/colleague swung by last week & I got to drive his brand new 2024 Range Rover Hybrid around Tagatay/Highlands mountain highway/open roads near my house south of the city .

I’d be too nervous driving that rig in metro Manila traffic.

Has some pep at over 540 hp for a bigger vehicle, surprised how quiet & comfy/responsive handling.
Easy to drive.

Got some strong torque, & moves really well on open road, for a bigger suv.
Felt like driving Red October: commanding ride/presence, yet smooth & quiet.

Outta my solar system, price wise, But thing was fun to drive on the open roads.

For what its worth my brother in law owns a mechanic shop and he told me to never purchase a Range Rover.
The day he told me that there were multiple Land Rovers on lifts being serviced.

Edit found a chart.

False. There are levels to this shit. Obviously, I'm not saying "all", but the pattern is such, that they've earned their reputation. It's not just me saying this. Don't be angry. Set an example when you're driving your truck. Maybe it'll catch on. Until then, sorry, but pickup truck drivers are indeed the worst of the worst.

I have a Forester and I don't care it's identified as a lesbian SUV. I always have a ton of fishing gear and love the space in the back. It's a smooth ride and the turbo, although not a beast, has enough power for me.

And I like lesbians. Not the real ones. The ones in porn.

Sure thing dude.

Well dam I never seen any of those adds. The only ones I see are ones featuring people and their dogs. Or their charitable drives adds.
Yeah I guess if you saw those ads back in the 1990s you might miss the subtext if you were straight. Its also possible they only ran those ads in New England and the Pacific Northwest. I don't know enough about car advertising history to say.

I think one of the reasons this worked for Subaru back then was that people who were likely to complain about gay advertising were also unlikely to buy a somewhat nerdy import like Subaru in the first place so they didn't have to worry so much about boycotts or customers vowing never to buy another car from them.

Dinged up mini vans is the preferred vehicle of Hasidic Jews.

Taco guy here. This is a pic of my first day taking it off-roading. Not sure what the stereotype for this one is.

BMW drivers not using turn signals.

Audi and Mercedes divers just being entitled pricks on the road.

Dodge Ram owners being complete douchebags.

Women driving SUV's are crazy and think they own the road.

All Somalian immigrant drivers here get their licence from a relative or friend working at the place and don't have to do a test.

These are all things I've noticed or encountered many that has given me some stereotypes.
