He fought who they put in front of him, didn’t duck anyone. He didn’t make outrageous demands. Collected his paycheck and went on his way.

By the standards of most champions, he played ball as well as anyone. His only issue was that he didn’t care about self promotion, but that at least kept him from reaching levels of stardom that would warrant him making demands.
