It's literally the only reason you'd care if there's an interim titleholder or not. If Aspinall is interim champ and healthy, it's almost impossible to try to skip him over. If he's just the clear #1 contender, you feel like there's a glimmer of hope he might be bypassed (as ludicrous as that would be).
