Aspinall has been fighting in MMA for 15 years now and pro for 11 years...

More reasons to dislike this whole situation that kept him on the shelf for more than a year. People bitch about the fat and unskilled HW division, but when a fit KO machine falls on Dana's lap he doesn't know what to do with him.
Like every other interim champ in history Tom was going to be taking a break before any undisputed title fight no matter what. That's a problem for every interim champ that they can't unify with a champion who's injured, suspended, in contract negotiations, or whatever else had the UFC create it because the champion wasn't available. The champion isn't available, and that wasn't any different here.

Jon was injured for a year, it's beyond silly to count that period. Bitch about not returning in November against Tom, or from November-June. That's it.

Otherwise this is beyond a double standard to include the time Jon couldn't even fight anybody anyways.

Yeah, I doubt there is going to be a surprise loss unless a new fighter arises in the HW division. The current HW division isn't going to muster someone to beat him.

The blame is with the promotion.

This isn't boxing. They could've put their foot down on Jones in the summer of last year.

Instead, the went on with the Stipe fight that nobody cared about.

All of that nonsense and the overall refusal to promote Aspinall is on the UFC.
Yep. UFC shares blame.

If you want to absolve the chicken shit i just can't be arsed to debate with that level of stupidity tbh

Oh look

@haj02 is dumb as fuck and/or a liar

"That happened like three or four times and then eventually he retired. So it wasn't like I was literally sat waiting for the full year. I did think that the fight was going to come. Everyone was saying, 'Why are you waiting?' I wasn't waiting. I was getting told that the fight was happening, so there was nothing I could really do. My hands were completely tied completely by the UFC.”

Who'd have thought it

That's sounds like more evidence that he isn't the guy to turn anything around.

But since he hasn't been fighting for the last 2 years, what's he done outside of the octagon to raise his profile, boost his stock, or make people intrested and excited? Dumb fuck is still throwing Jones' name every chance he can get. He needs to get his ass in the cage.
When Tito doesn't realise he's the dumbfuck, lol

You can argue blue is red all you want, the rest of the MMA fanbase will still know you are a spastic not to be listened to

Titip tapping is a reference to the Tito Ortiz vs Chanel Sonnen fight. It's not my name dumbfuck.

Realise my point had nothing to do with your name. Wow. You really are the dumbfuck

Jailton is an interesting matchup though. The only guy who has a chance.

After Gane knocks him dead @HI SCOTT NEWMAN 😄 🐈 Thomas will have to sell double amount of shoes! 🤠

haha very true... Tom's had more new shoe lines in the last year than he's had fights

I mean his shoes are ugly and his prices are outrageous, Tom wants $270 for these, there were holes in them within 5 minutes of wearing them.

You can clearly see the visible holes, and I made the photo display big and HD so you can see. what a rip off

I think it was well established by most that Tom is in his prime, which is why people got so pissed Jon and the UFC were wasting it pointlessly.

I didn't absolve Jones for anything.

The fact is that the UFC holds all the cards here.

It's their belt. They could have moved on long before they did.
Your first line apparently contradicts the meaning of the rest of this post plus the previous one.

Unless you agree Jones also shares the blame?

It depends on how things went behind the scenes.

Aspinall's recent comments suggest it might indeed be Jones' fault. If Jon Jones told the UFC he would fight Aspinall and then changed his mind, that's his fault. Not the UFC's fault. For example, if Jon said he would fight Aspinall @ IFW in June 2025, and then changed his mind and wanted more time, that's his fault. If he then said he wanted "Fuck You Money" to fight Aspinall, and the UFC agreed, and Jon then backed out, that's Jon Jones' fault.

The only way this isn't Jon's fault is if he clearly told the UFC he would not fight Tom Aspinall at all, and the UFC dragged this out hoping he would change his mind.

Yep for sure, probably his fighting prime and we've barely seen him, seen Justin Tafa fight plenty though ha ha

His whole name is built from the Jones fight basically, can't blame him leaning into it. Although I will say there was a quiet group here following Aspinall and knew of his potential just being so well rounded. From the way people talk about Aspinall he's going to takedown and sub Gane easy, then use his "perfect TDD" and make Almeida stand and KO him. So we'll see how it all plays out.

I think we'll be calling you "Mystic Tweak" by mid 2026.
