Ill still take GSP.

GSP lost to Hughes and Serra then dominated them in the rematch.

Jones lost to himself like 5 times and just retired after losing that battle again.
 
I'm truly stunned.
I have the utmost respect for everyone involved in combat sports.
If a fighter himself says that out-of-the-cage/ring actions shouldn't be part of a fighter's resume, I can live with that.
But for sportsmen and athletes to ignore the misuse of PEDs leaves me speechless.
I can't explain it. It's the same as if Carl Lewis had said back then, Ben Johnson was doping, but he was faster than me and deserved the gold medal. Which, thankfully, he didn't.
That makes me doubt whether those people really understand the meaning of sports in general.
As I said: speechless.
This is a sad day.
 
Goat is about not fighting younger guys when you hit 38 but making 43 year old retired fighters fight you than going for a fight vs the former MW/LHW champ who doesn't have elite grappling.

Jones' test results showed sus T:E ratio... his fans said it was normal.

Jones was busted for using Steroid masking agents... I remember his fans argued that he didn't actually test positive for Steroids.

Jones actually tested positive for Steroids... his fans STILL call him the GOAT

Jones casually kept testing positive for steroids... they called it "Pulsing" which means Jones had a green light to keep testing positive for steroids, on grounds of Past Usage.

In no other sport can you cheat REPEATEDLY and still be considered the GOAT.



This isn't even taking into account Jones' cheating in the ring with extended fingers or with eye-gauging... where they literally had to change the rules of the entire sport to prevent fighters from reaching out towards your opponent with an open palm.

Funny how you never hear people going "Lance Armstrong is the GOAT because so many other cyclists (allegedly) juice/have juiced". Or "Barry Bonds being on PEDs doesn't matter because half of the NFL is/was juicing, he's the GOAT".

It's literally only in MMA where this dumb rationalization is attempted. How can you be considered the greatest at a sport if you had to cheat throughout your entire career in order to be in that conversation?

Hate Jon Jones. Wished he lost every single time he fought. Fedor is my GOAT, but only because I am a fan. Objectively, Jon Jones is the GOAT.

This feels like an odd paradox: I don't care about PED use, think it should be legal/monitored and in general I think most everyone is on something. Positive tests mean nothing to me on my all time ranks.

Jon Jones is my #2 GOAT.

BUT. When someone discredits Jon and says he's not the GOAT, I still enjoy it even though I disagree. Jones is a bigger piece of shit than he is great fighter, so anyone who wants to discredit him, feel free.


EDIT: Just because I'm a mark I feel the need to specify that Fedor is my GOAT

yeah but they are fighters, so they are prepared for the consequence of their antics, Ariel would start crying and talking about how his people have been hunted down and percecuted for millenia ect
 
Jones is not my GOAT but i refuse to agree with Ariel
