Media Ariel sh*** on Jon , says he is not GOAT

Don’t worry I wont listen to the line of legends and GOATS calling Jones GOAT I will listen to dicknose Helwani and the bitter broads of sherdog. That’s the ticket

I understand why people think Jones is the GOAT based on what he's done but I also don't think its as obvious as people think when you really take into account the lack of talent at LHW combined with the mediocre performances he had in the second LHW title run and the total shitshow of his HW run.

Within the last five years Max Holloway has put in far more worthy GOAT performances than Jones has, his win over Gaethje for the BMF belt is more impressive than Jones' HW title run.

He barley fought since he won the belt. By that same logic there are even more "different champs" since gsp became champ
GSP had 13 title wins to Jones 17. GSP is definitely a legend by any metric and one of the greatest of all time. With that said and to your point Jones beating literal generations of fighters in title fights NEVER LOSING is incredibly difficult and something I don’t see anyone else accomplishing. You may not view that highly but it is a pretty incredible feat that only someone that wins a belt at an early age (jones at 23) and consistently just fucking winning over the next 15 years whenever stepping into the cage is something we will likely never see again. It’s arguably more difficult to win 17 title fights over a 15 year period always against “the next big threat” then being more active through your prime and riding that momentum while in your glow. Jones entered the UFC at 21 and retired at 38 without losing a fight at the highest level. I view that as something pretty crazy even if he’s fighting slightly over annually during his title run.

Esports don't work that way. Hell if you're a serial cheater in magic the fucking gathering they will ban you for life and revoke all your tournament wins. In pretty much any competitive endeavor large or small, cheaters are shunned and banned and their wins overturned. Even in low level comp like videogames and card games cheaters aren't excused.

lol..

Literally, the ENTIRE mma community KNOWS he’s not the GOAT.
Out of curiosity have you ever been to an MMA gym? I’ve trained at many big camps for most of my adult life. ATT, AKA, Blackzilians etc etc Jones is by far the most common name brought up when we talk about the goat amongst fighters. I was even a part of Rashad’s camp vs jones at imperial athletics (first home of Blackzilians prior to our move to Jaco training facility). I was second row for the fight. Jones is a different level it’s always been the general consensus amongst the MMA community.

That's the point man. Even in a card game tournament they ban repeat cheaters for life. But beating people up and giving them brain damage for money is less serious and should have less serious consequences?

The Olympics also ban people for life and strip medals. So from hobbyist competition to the elite of the elite, there are a lot more examples of cheating being a huge deal that completely destroys your legacy than it being no big deal because you won.

Lance won a lot of bike races too.
I think many of you would be shocked to realize how many fighters juice. I used to be pretty naive about it but our sport is wrought with it. I would be shocked to find a top5 guy at any weight that isn’t on something banned. I’ve seen more than my share over the last couple decades.

Watching you clowns jump on Helwanis d🤣ck because he has the same shit take as many of you is hilarious. Jones is the mma GOAT it’s really not even a debate.

<JonesLaugh>

Remember to put the nonsense fantasy caveat of 'P4P' before 'GOAT'.

Otherwise you're going around calling a 2-0 HW with wins over a French kickboxer and retired fireman the GOAT, which would be quite the clownish take.

Ok so yet again, even if you believe everyone juices you can't just label everyone as a cheater when plenty of people have never been found guilty of any cheating. Everyone is secretly a cheater is just a flat out BULLSHIT argument when EVERYONE is not popping multiple times. Full stop.

Putting that aside, does everyone have scandals about fouls across their entire career? Did everyone end their career blatantly ducking and holding up a division. Everyone isn't a confirmed ped cheat. Everyone isn't a notorious cheater inside the cage. Everyone doesn't duck and hold up divisions for their own benefit. Get the moral relativity everyone is as much of a scumbag as Jones stuff outta here.

The reason why he never wins any goat polls or competitions and most here don't respect him despite how great he was, is precisely because he has a legacy of cheating and unsportsmanlike conduct the likes of which we've literally never seen before. Lets stop acting like everyone is a proven steroid cheat when that shit isn't true, and while we're at it lets stop pretending that peds are the only criticism against Jones or that all other criticism is over his personal life.

Most of us already knew he wasn't the GOAT.

And he lost to Gustafsson and Reyes.
I'd still consider him the GOAT if you take out PEDs. His early career I tend to give him a pass considering everyone was on something at the time the one thing that makes it questionable is his USADA performances.

USADA got contracted in the UFC on July 1, 2015.

Since USADA Jones came back to fight OSP and unimpressivly did enough each round to beat a mid teir LHW. Impressive win against DC...pops for PEDs. Fights Gus, has "pico grams" of a substance experts say does not pulse in your system and USADA references a completely different drug that does pulse as justification. Wins relatively impressive in that fight. Fights Anthony Smith and gets an uninspiring win. I'm under the impression that Smith never was all that good. Ozedemir was a good win but he rode off the name of Shogun and Rashad. Rashad was on a 4 fight losing streak at the time, losing to Sam freakin Alvey. Then wins against Thiago Santos who has no knees and some thought he lost. Fights Reyes who most thought he lost to (including me.) Gone in retirement, back to get a good win against Gane and a shameful fight against Stipe.

I get people saying he isn't because there is a clear performance drop off once USADA came. It's amazing how clear it is between USADA coming and other fighters in the division closing the gap on Jones. This is were the Jones fans claim "he was bored" so that's why this happened and not the blatant USADA timeline.

Disgusting rationalisation - to attempt to tarnish every other guy on the roster to justify your own feelings towards one fighter. You’re biased you bought into the hype years ago bud. Them stories about Jon picking up spinning techniques and mastering them within a day worked too well on you.

I don’t think PED discredit him

I believe all fighters at that level are in something.

Resume wise Jon is the goat

Goat debates are also subjective.

It’s hard to quantify a career. At the end of the day is personal preference.

Why keep talking. It’s clear he’s top three

Who ever you pick as goat is always debatable.

For me it’s GSP. But you can argue his loses and taping to strikes
Yeah. Jones being "undefeated" usually puts him at the top for most. I can see an argument for GSP. He revenged all his loses and aside from the Hendricks fight (who most think at the time he was juicing) there were no questionable wins on GSPs career. Personally, I was never all that excited for a GSP fight, mostly because you knew what was going to happen every fight. Same with Khabib but towards the end he started to redeem himself by finishing people.
