Indeed. That’s the typical cycle I can’t think of any relationship that didn’t aggravate me as much as it gave me nice times it’s not optimal for me to do a balance act and compromise my personal quality of life and I’m im 50 .
Also it’s different for someone like me , the old cliche is woman takes care of the man . All my ex girlfriends have serious health issues so they are a liability if I was still with them and were going back 1998 to current,I’ve been single for decade and haven’t been this happy ( I get it it’s not fir everyone ) one girlfriend I had was a former model she was actually one of the Robert Palmer girls in his video ,when I met her she was 47 about 13 years older then me and most ppl thought she was my mother it used to annoy her but that’s the thing I don’t get much out of it long term I’ve seen her recently and she definitely can pass fir that bc that was 2013 or so ,Indeed.
It is a weird positive... I guess... that we believe getting married means our partners will love us so much that we can both take the focus on staying in shape. I get there is some benefit in that belief.
BUt it is also a very sad testament that once married, the only person likely to ever truly be with your best you, will be the person you date after divorce/breakup, if that happens.
We do not give our partners, the love of our lives, our best that the 'next' person will get.
That’s probably the best decision up you’ve made ,quality of life depends on your own health ( it’s an unpopular fact bc most aren’t taking care of themselves) I remember my father busting my balls on going to the gym all the time and he’s a former boxer 19 and 1 but the old school fathers never understood the importance of health he also smoked in his 20”s and never was athletic after 30 he’s still alive only bc of good genetics he still competes in dance tournaments at 85 but he’s got several stents and had minor heart attacks and is on 20 medications I’m not remotely going down that road .Yes I've been lifting weights for over 20 years straight since I was 20. I'm in very good shape.

The funny thing is I’ve experienced more then even older ppl at one stage , I had a rare form of skin disease no one could figure out was even bubbling a little in the sun , a doctor saved my life it was a disorder only 6 ppl in the worst had and they were over 60 I was 14 at the time …I’m actually in the history books somewhere ? I had multiple problems at once from diabetes, glaucoma, cataracts, high blood pressure, inability to walk developing, lock jaw , dementia, depression and bone marrow loss .I was on multiple things including one of the first ppl to be on chemotherapy pill firm extremely toxic among several experimental drugs by the time I was 16 ….needless to say I was home schooled for 2 years only I bounced back far quicker then anyone expected they actually gave me a choice to undergo things bc they to,d me there’s 10% I could dieYep when I was 12 my grandmother fell down and broke her hip and was stuck in a wheelchair for life. When I asked my dad why wont it just heal like a broken leg/arm he said it's cause she's to old and her bones are weak. I've never been so scared of getting old as I was at that point. I never cared about getting old and dying but getting old and weak\slow terrified me. I was always a very active kid so not being able to run and horse around with people just seemed like a boring life.
Then when I was 16 google came out and I started asking it every question I could think of. Then one day I typed in "how to reverse old age" or something similar to that. That's when I basically found out that lifting weights does everything I'm looking for. Also found out about TRT\steroids as another option if I needed it. Also started finding videos of old ass dudes who were my grandmothers age lifting more weight and looking more fit then I ever have in my life.
I started lifting then but stopped when I went on vacation for the summer. Started up again at 20 with my only goal being to never stop and so far I'm achieving that goal.
Damn man you've really been through it. Glad to hear you made it through all that though. I was back in school at 18 yrs old senior year ,, the doctors were puzzled how one could recuperate in such short time ( I never fully recovered until years later ) but I’ve been through the ringer there’s little I haven’t experienced , my recovery is mostly due to the fact I actually started lifting at age 12 my body was already fighting off aging even then .
The crazy thing is it at the tail end of all that I ended up fighting a bare knuckle champion of P.A undefeated I saw him knock out some 300 pound monster he out him in a coma actually from a huge right hand this guy ended up fighting Deontay Wilder back in the day bc he went pro , anyway I couldn’t see clearly at night bc of the cataracts was still there a bit and my bones were still healing so I lost some speed anyway this guy was about 10 inches taller and 50 pounds heavier and he still couldn’t win .Damn man you've really been through it. Glad to hear you made it through all that though.
