Are you in shape for your age ?

42 years old, overweight weed smoker, but I work out 5-10 hours a week, but I can still reach the top 10 of the Strava leaderboards on various competitive sprint segments, so I guess I'm fitter than I give myself credit for.

40 Fit and primed, not game at the moment though as I haven’t sparred in close to a year. Trying to set up a new training spot with da boys soon so that should change. The goal I try to keep is waking up feeling good enough and strong enough to start fighting effectively if I had to.

Yeah, best shape since my 20's and I'm a baby boomer. Ride my bike one day and weights the next, take one day off every week or two. Try to eat clean also and make a lot of stuff from scratch, cooking a turkey while I watch football. I still play hoops sometimes and can run full with the young bucks.

Nope. I am in good shape compared to an average american, but due to chronic back pain
and disc herniation, I am not up to Sherdog standards.

Age 46 for the fucking loss.

I'm 46 and can do 3 chin-ups and 25 straight push-ups without stopping. The bar for "in shape" in the US is preposterously low. My bodyfat is around 20% and I'm working to get back below the overweight BMI range. I was able to do 5-6 chin-ups and 30-35 push-ups just a few months ago, but got lazy and stopped. Fasting is a game changer and something I'd highly recommend to my fellow Sherbros/Shergals. One meal a day is the way to go for me and I find that I only start gaining when I relax about it. The good news is the willingness to change habits and do the hard shit is 1/2 the battle.

Fuck no. I’ve been nearly fainting a lot the past couple of weeks. If I broke into a sprint I’d probably fukkin kill myself lmao.

I’ll figure it out one day.

I hope you have health insurance- go see a dr and get yerself sorted pls.

42 and don't lift or run anymore because of arthritis but still do physical work daily. Main thing for my health being good is a decade of clean carnivore diet and no drinking or smoking.

I train and do outdoors activities on a regular basis. Im in better shape then most people half my age tbh. Not difficult as every new gen is getting lazier by the day. My pops is in his 70s and is in better shape then some of my friends. Hes never been fat our out of shape in his life. Heavy work ethic.

Nearly fainting? Aren't you only in your 30's?

Could be a blood sugar thing. Time for a blood test and visit to the doctor...

Could be low iron or low copper. Blood cells need copper to use iron effectively, so low copper can look like low iron even though tests show enough iron. Try eating more beef or calf liver, see if something happens.

I'm 44 and probably in the worst shape I've ever been in my 40's, however I'm probably still in much better shape than 99% of men in their 40's. I just had a pretty high standard to begin with. I can still bench teh 275 for reps, can still run and agile with a soccer ball and I still look pretty jacked. I just fell off a notch or two after COVID days and more so after my car accident a few years ago. I've been stepping it up over the past month though.

I guess I’ll be the oldest one to post my pic for 2025 , I don’t go by age I go by biological age bc that don’t lie .

I think I’d qualify for being above and beyond my age once you let you let yourself go you’ve already lost years you don’t get back ,this thread is good maybe will motivate ppl .

I play football aged 45, was o line, now trying to go back to D Line. Was looking good till an injury (scan soon fingers crossed). But I've lost some muscle the last year from illness and Christmas was fun so I need to tidy shit up, but I'm not bad. 6'6 275lbs.

Eh, round is a shape...
You have just shattered my illusions.

I was just fucking around about being fat. I have had a cripplingly painful shoulder injury for four months now, I was self medicating with LOTS of alcohol and between that and Christmas/New Years, I put on 5kg. Horribly fat for me at 18% body fat. I'm still only 6'1, 205.

Shoulder is mostly better, back into stretching and HIIT cardio and will start back to weights shortly... I'm just going to be a lot more careful, do lighter weights and leave more time for recovery.

I'm riding this fucker till the wheels fall off...

I hope your injury comes good soon dude /crosses fingers

Pretty good for my age, not as muscular as I was a few years ago, mostly due to some injuries so I couldn't work out as much or play more sports. The six pack is down to a 4 pack now, but definitely in better shape than most people in their late 30s. Watching my diet and walking a lot everyday really help. Of course, since I'm still an active Sherdogger, I can still bench teh 275.

<{UberTS}>
I’m up to a 15 pack myself tonight .

Im 46 and in ok shape. I used to do the normal gym type routine with cardio and weights in my 20s and part of my 30s, just normal stuff. These days I tend to get obsessed with a certain workout and do it alot for a while. I did Bikram yoga for 2 years straight everyday about 6 years ago. I'm still fairly flexible though not anywhere near my Bikram flexibility. For a few months about a year ago, I did a pull up workout where I'd do around 50-70 per session. Did this on an inside bike too, 30-40 minutes daily for 3 months straight. Currently I do 10 pull ups and 20 push ups when I wake up and at night, hit the heavy bag and another 20 or so pull ups. I'm 5 11 and around 175. Also I don't drink soda or eat junk food or fast food, rarely drink alcohol and don't smoke or do any drugs. I think that helps me a lot.

I'm able to date women in their 20s. I wouldn't mind dating a women my own age but since I know I can get the younger ones. The ones my age I'm just not attracted to them at all.
