The fatal flaw in your argument is that a business is not interested in market efficiency - in fact they will actively lobby and fight against it - and this is Economics 101. The ideal model for a business is one of artificial scarcity to increase the price of the good or service which then maximises profit. The profit the business will earn is called Abnormal Profit or Supernormal Profit which are the kinds found in monopolies and oligopolies.

All of this bears some striking similarities to the lack of competition in the US healthcare system.

Most leftists are actually bitter, resentful people who want to exsert power and malice towards others beyond what their position in society grants. So they use identity politics and PC culture as a vehicle to police, target and abuse other people. Most of them are not sincere at all. It's everything from college boys wanting to get laid so they adopt feminist ideology, to rich or afluent people who have no sense of competition so they don't see the harm caused by handcuffing the white middle class. Then there is the naive youths who genuinely lap up what their marxist professors spoon feed them.

Good luck in the future trying to deny what the left has become. The radical left has been increasing influence among their side of the spectrum for decades and it simply isn't fair to call them a fringe minority. They are the dominant culture throughout the education system and many bureaucratic institutions of the west.

A very small fraction of people have found a great deal of power in victimhood and that should be resisted at every turn. It's steaming hot garbage and we all know it. But who on this forum is even arguing these points? Who are you talking to when you say it? Who here is going to sit there and defend the outrageous things the left say? Nobody. Fucking nobody.

It's the same as saying the whole right has become a bunch of Nazis. It's stupid, it's reactionary, it stifles conversation and for a forum on politics it should be avoided.

Both sides should be comfortable in condemning the outrageous fringes of their respective groups but to conflate them with the whole category is a mistake.
