I know a woman from Honduras that is currently in this current situation. She got a lawyer, but he told her there isn't much she can do right now. It's especially bad with the current administration. She's college educated and was a teacher in her country. Honduras is a very poor country and she just wants a better life for herself and her family. Her kids are back in Honduras and she sends money back home. I feel so bad for her because she's such a a good person.

I personally know a ton on J1 visas/overstayed/ now married with legit green cards. I also know a bunch of older ones that dont have the luxery to do so. Most people would be blown away on the amount of fake marriages for green cards, but what else are they to do? There is no other avenue for them to become legal.

You would never be able to get anything other than min wage for a job like that nor would the job deserve anything beyond min wage based upon the level of skill required for the job. Don’t get me wrong, that job would absolutely suck being out in the sun all day, the heat, probably bent over all day-no fucking thanks. Maybe some teenagers would be willing to do it for min wage, but I can’t imagine a field full of adult Americans doing that kind of work.

And I don’t believe that farmers/companies that sell the product and hire the workers would want to hire Americans. Why? First, minimum wage doesn’t matter to an illegal imigrant and they will take whatever they can get and they would be happy to get it and Americans wouldn’t settle for less than minimum wage and if a farmer were to choose who they wanted to work for them between illegals and Americans, they’re choosing illegals again because of the wage and second, most of those immigrants are hard fucking workers

Nobody is being paid according to the skill with which they are doing their job, they are being paid according to how scarce that labor is in the market.

I can't stand this argument that some make (not saying you're doing that) - "Oh who'll pick our strawberries." "Who will clean our toilets." Etc.

If you pay enough, Americans will be willing to do the job. Oh our strawberries will be $3 more expensive. Well too fucking bad. It's the free market.

If it's too expensive to produce a fruit in the US that way, then we can import fruits. Plenty of countries do that.

To have to rely on vastly underpaying undocumented (not even illegal, but completely undocumented) illegals and paying them slave wages with long ass hours because we don't want to pay a few extra dollars for strawberries is a very poor argument.

Also, even now, undocumented are only about 40% of the fruit picking demo. The rest are legal. So completely untrue that Americans won't do this work.

But to answer the OP's question: no of course most illegals (in the US anyway) are not bad people. They're just people wanting to make a better life for themselves.

That still doesn't mean we should take them all in.

And this notion that a huge influx of illegal immigrants is a net financial positive is completely ridiculous.

10-15 million people in a 4 year period that are non-skilled and do not speak English are not going to integrate well into society. The Democrats want to make them all citizens That'll mean millions on welfare.

Keep in mind, there are MILLIONS of people waiting on asylum claims. 1.1 million that have TPS. Almost a million that got in through the CBP app. Almost a million through humanitarian parole.

ALL THESE PEOPLE QUALIFY FOR MEDICAID. It's only the illegals that have no status at all that don't qualify for federal programs. The rest do. So if you're illegal, just apply for asylum.

How many of these low skill, non-English speaking people are paying into Medicaid? All the strawberry pickers are paying massive amounts into Medicaid? GFTO.

Not to mention, they use the emergency rooms of hospitals as their primary care because they don't pay. Then they get food stamps - not directly - but through their children. And their children also go to school of course. Huge financial drain.

They're not even called illegal in EU. At least in Sweden they are referred to as "paperless immigrants".

And those paperless immigrants would up until a couple of years ago receive extremely expensive dental procedures for $5 bucks. Just had to rock up to the dentist and tell them they were an illegal immigrant and they would be given the procedure for $5.
