Have you been told that nobody cares about those convictions, because the charges were absolute bullshit? Just incase you're still confused about it, I'm here to tell you that nobody gave a shit, because the charges were so obviously bullshit. It's why his approval rating always went up with every indictment. You and your Reddit bros could not convince the public that it was anything but a witch hunt, and you're still going on about it, like anyone gives a shit. Give it up.

34 bullshit charges = President Trump. Congratulations. You played yourself.
Yeah, so you agree, it’s not as simple as “you broke the law so you must be punished”. Thanks for the contribution.

Nice try. Illegally entering the country has been on the books for quite a while. Frankensteining a misdemeanor charge over falsifying business records, into a felony charge via way of "election interference"...not so much.

Cry more.

Something I learned when talking to my cousin (border patrol agent for 14 years and counting) there is a disturbing % of illegals that flee to America SPECIFICALLY due to them having warrants in their home countries. He says there is still no worldwide shared criminal database. Which makes it super difficult to figure out if an immigrant is wanted in their home country or not.

Theyre hard working people that are desperate to build a better life for themselves and their family and are literally risking their lives on a dangerous, treacherous journey through some real horrible conditions to try and make it happen

My dad and his brothers came to this country "illegally" with literally nothing but the dirt in their pockets and dreams of a better existence and when they got here they worked every single day of their lives to make that happen

They got jobs doing hard ass labor and never stopped until they achieved those goals, became citizens, tax payers, land owners, business owners that were paid very well because they had reputations as being great at what they do

My dad died last year but before he did, he would get paid huge sums of money by rich white people to do the fancy delicate detailed finishing work on their big show off back yard party decks and swimming pools and he would spend the rest of the time working on his huge ranch full of livestock and cattle

He was literally the American Dream

That's who is coming to this country

I’m torn on the issue because I feel like deportation is a great way to get rid of criminals who are here illegally, I also feel like there should be an easier path to citizenship for people like your father who were clearly contributing to the betterment of our country. In any case RIP to your dad, he sounds like he was a great man.

Unauthorized physical presence here isn’t even a criminal offense, it’s civil. Illegal entry is a misdemeanor. Trump is a convicted felon. Those are facts. You jumped into a conversation to tell us all how crimes don’t matter if you really, really like the criminal, and then accuse me of being emotional, lol.

This is the other side of the issue. We don’t really know if someone is bad until they do something bad. Maybe we could find a middle ground where if someone is here on an expired visa, but they’ve been in our country working and obeying the law for a substantial amount of time they should get put to the front of the line for citizenship. It’s a complicated issue unfortunately.

It’s not that complicated. If you've been here a while working and don't have a criminal record, citizenship is a prudent option. The issue is these folks aren't the same skin color as my descendents who benefited from open borders in earlier times.

That's just where it starts. It's not a zero sum game. For instance, if you enter illegally a second time, it becomes a felony, along with a whole other list of things one can do to make it a felony.

LOL @ "unauthorized physical presence". Is that the new shit they're throwing around on Bluesky and Reddit?
Trump is a convicted felon.
Still don't get it, do ya? LOL. Ah' well. Keep losing.

You're talking to the retard that wants his own country to be illegally invaded so he can live under Trump's regime. Guy is too broke to move over here so he just fantasizes all day about being American. Total loser

Theres no such thing as jobs americans dont want to do. Thats bullshit. I know people who do disgusting work/back breaking labor in the Arizona heat. Its about pay. Ever see the show dirty jobs? People will do anything to support their family if the pay will allow them to properly do so.

Sorry, mate-I just don’t see Americans lining up to pick strawberries. You would never be able to get anything other than min wage for a job like that nor would the job deserve anything beyond min wage based upon the level of skill required for the job. Don’t get me wrong, that job would absolutely suck being out in the sun all day, the heat, probably bent over all day-no fucking thanks. Maybe some teenagers would be willing to do it for min wage, but I can’t imagine a field full of adult Americans doing that kind of work.

And I don’t believe that farmers/companies that sell the product and hire the workers would want to hire Americans. Why? First, minimum wage doesn’t matter to an illegal imigrant and they will take whatever they can get and they would be happy to get it and Americans wouldn’t settle for less than minimum wage and if a farmer were to choose who they wanted to work for them between illegals and Americans, they’re choosing illegals again because of the wage and second, most of those immigrants are hard fucking workers

They'll do anything, as long as it's not slave wages. Look at manufacturing. You think people would be lining up to stand on a line and insert a few screws into a car door for 8 hours a day, if the pay was dogshit? Of course they wouldn't. It all comes down to pay, not will.

Yes, lots of offenses are more serious if you repeat them. Like fraud, for example.

So, what would you call being here without authorization when you didn’t cross the border illegally? It’s a civil offense and very common amongst “illegals”. The OP doesn’t differentiate, and the guy I responded to said it doesn’t matter, anyone who breaks the law is bad and should be punished. You obviously agree with me that things like context and the seriousness of the offense do matter. Not sure why you’re so combative about it.

The thing is that it's not even clear at this point that illegal immigrants in these kind of roles are doing it for sub-minimum wage, a lot of the signs point to them actually earning over that. That's how backbreaking the labor is and how ridiculous the "Americans are lining up to replace these workers" argument is.

What wage do you think it would take to get American workers to do the agricultural labor that is frequently filled by illegal immigrants?

Dude, I just can't with this even more filtered version of leftist newspeak. Talk like a normal person. It ain't gonna catch on.

My cousin was an illegal immigrant (Irish) in Hawaii for years. He went on vacation there and never left. He got a job as a boat captain somehow, and eventually made friends with some cops. One day they were out drinking together and he told them he was illegal, they made him go get his citizenship. He's been an American for like 20 years now. Always seemed like a good dude to me. Kind of crazy but fun and funny.
