Are Hardcore Conspiracy Theorists Retarded?

Are Hardcore Conspiracy Theorists Retarded?

It's easy to see how one might wonder.

They go for some really insane stuff.

But what's happening is just a demonstration of the incredible power of bias. When a human being lets their desires interfere with their reasoning process, they are capable of believing extraordinary nonsense, just because they want it so bad, and dealing with the truth is too unpleasant.

No more than those that always believe the official story, like the fools that they are.

There are all types of CTers. It really depends on the topic, and one has to address each case on its own merit. Some have a valid case, while others go way off the reservation.

Such a thing as a "disinformation agent" is also a reality.

If you're the type of person that even uses the term CTer in a purely derogatory manner, you too are an extremest retard - you're just on the other end of the spectrum.

it was once a conspiracy theory that Dan "She's never too young for me to ride her" Schneider was a creepy producer of many popular Nickelodeon shows.

so has he ever said why he personally needed to be in the rocket? Wouldnt strapping cameras to it do the job just fine?

likely answer is he is just this generation evil keenevil and doesnt believe this flat eart shit. its a gimmick right?
He's just an attention whore.

I have known a few, in my opinion they were of average intelligence but uneducated.

My father got into conspiracy theories later in his life. Of course, the internet didn't exist earlier in his life.

Anyways, my father was an idiot. He was. Just not a smart guy. But he always acted like he was the smartest guy in the room. He had some bizarre confidence in himself that was inexplicable. Never seen someone with so much confidence who had achieved so little in life.

I wonder how much of it was insecurity. Did he, on the inside, actually realize he was an idiot? Did he just pretend to be so confident because he was afraid everyone could see who he was.

Anyways, due to my dad, I generally assume that conspiracy nuts are people that feel lost and stupid, but hate that feeling. If you always feel inferior, you might just latch onto anything that makes you feel superior, like knowing the "real truth" about the world, while everyone else is living a lie.

the real conspiracy is that the nuts are all 'hardcore'.
whist the true villains hang back in the shadows to take your money and your soul.
don't ask me how I know this.
*I was never itt

Some most definitely are. It's a pretty far leap of logic for me to go from UFO's to Aliens piloting UFO's to Lizard People Aliens running the world.

However, imagine somebody in Germany circa 1924 coming out with a "Conspiracy Theory" that the Ani-Marxist movement was being hijacked by people who would round up your neighbors, tattoo them as undesirables, and cart them off to Death Camps.

There's bound to be a nugget of truth in one or two of the theories that most call "Conspiracy Theories".

Hell even the truth about the age and shape and history of this planet is hidden from us...

...And when you question the "facts" that they give us you're a retard

Legitimately laughed out loud. Thank you.

The thing about conspiracy theorists is they all seem to believe them all. You rarely see people that only believe a specific one. Guy I work with has a new one everyday, Bigfoot is an interdimensional being, the moon is an alien spaceship, lizard people are eating people in the countries national parks etc.....

This is why you can definitely classify it as a personality defect or an intellect problem. There's an inherent willingness to believe coupled with a natural defense of "you're just brainwashed!" that points to a clear attempt at justifying a feeling of being excluded. To them, we're not just wrong, we've been changed. That's why we get along with people and our lives are easier, because some grand evil entity wants us that way so we miss the truth.

It's the most comfortable reasoning they can come up with. Even though other people have a better real world existence, they have a higher knowledge. And this is ultimately why it always seems to lead to a religious theme. Because their reward for this higher knowledge is gonna come in a different life. They sure as hell know it's not coming in this one.

If you're the type of person that even uses the term CTer in a purely derogatory manner, you too are an extremest retard -

Said the guy who attacks the intelligence of people who doubt things there are no proof of. You are a conspiracy theorist, and you use a lack of information as your basis for belief. Not knowing what something is or where it came from isn't verifiable data or evidence one can study. It's a game of playing "I don't know so therefore monsters".

How's all the studies on Bigfoot and Lake Monster carcasses going? I'm guessing those bodies just keep on piling up, right? Or are you still only working with youtube videos and broken branches?

You can add the Trump Russia conspiracy theorists to the list. The people continuing to talk about this nonsense must have eaten a lot of paint chips as a child.

I mean, people were called CT nutters for the concern that Facebook(or any corporation) would sell/use private data for nefarious purposes and look what happened.

not retarded, but certainly illogical in regards to the conspiracy theories. Studies have shown that the only thing that they are convinced of is the official/accepted story is untrue. They will hold mutually exclusive beliefs on events as long as they contradict the official story.

One thing to keep in mind is that conspiracies are all around us. You have no doubt been involved in a few yourself.

Did your parents teach you that Santa Claus was real? Well that was a conspiracy foisted upon you as a child by authority figures.

MK-Ultra, the Tuskeegee syphilis experiment, Iran-Contra . . . those are examples of government conspiracies that turned out to be true. Or more recently, Snowden's revelations about the NSA spying on Americans was the revelation of a governmental conpsiracy.

Here's former Director of National Intelligence James Clapper lying his ass off to Congress to cover the conspiracy up:

So while some people really do get way too far out there and start believing stuff that's obviously bullshit, we shouldn't just write off the idea of conspiracies as fantasy or tar everyone who suspects a conspiracy is afoot as delusional or a whack job.

Conspiracies are everywhere.

Its like the Mel Gibson movie

They were actually right for once

Combination of paranoia and narcissism. They get to feel smarter than others by "seeing" what others don't see which lets them cover up for their own failures and insecurities or they can simply create scapegoats for those things.

Its pretty sad how much of that though has injected itself into American politics. Hell all Trump needs to do is say Deep State and it obsolves him of his failures and shortcomings.

A Sherdoggy was telling me that latest school shooting was all staged with all the kids on it to push their anti gun agenda.

My conspiracy theory.

He wasn't a flat earther at all just a guy who wanted to build a rocket and found out flat earthers would sponsor him.

Fyi he went up about 2/3s the height of
the worlds tallest building.

Like, actually, clinically retarded?

I'm a conspiracy enthusiast. I love reading in-depth about conspiracy theories, but the more I do, the more I realize how fucking idiotic some of these people are. I'll give a few examples and update the thread with more when I have more time to collect some data on the pure low-IQ madness in these circles.

I've read some insane stuff that people seem to believe (in order from the more common to the most absurd):

  • Sandy Hook was a hoax. Not a false flag, but a straight up hoax. No one died. This theory is "bolstered" by claims that the school wasn't open at the time. No substantial evidence for this theory. Would require thousands upon thousands of cooperative "actors" to pull off.
  • Pulse Nightclub Shooting was a hoax. Not a false flag, but a straight up hoax. No one died. The theory is "bolstered" by the idea that the building didn't have sufficient parking for the number of clubgoers. No substantial evidence for this theory. Would require hundreds of cooperative "actors" to pull off.
  • 9/11 wasn't just an inside job. It was the result of a "direct energy weapon" fired from space. Or perhaps the result of miniature nuclear explosions. This theory is bolstered by the fact that first responders developed cancer. No substantial evidence for this theory. Would require thousands of cooperative "actors" to pull off.
  • 9/11 was a hoax. Not a false flag, but a straight up hoax. No one died. No one was in the buildings. No planes flew into the buildings. The visuals were CGI overlays during planned controlled demolitions. No substantial evidence for this theory. Would require thousands upon thousands of cooperative "actors" to pull off.
  • Flat fucking earth.
I have other things that'll be worth bringing up when I have time to listen to podcasts to pull quotes. Most notably, literally any episode of The Higherside Chats. I'm fairly certain the host purposefully brings the most nutty fucking people on his show to low-key make fun of them.

What's up with Conspiracy Theorists and Satanism? These nutjobs have the unique talent of linking literally any unscrupulous activity with "ritual Satanic sacrifices" and shit. There are plenty of valid lines of inquiry, but throwing some Satan Worshiping into any discussion is a real non-starter.

People aren't coming up with these ideas by themselves.

This is called discredit through association.

See if you ask questions about 9-11, that means you believe it was a hologram that hit WTC.
