Anyone think Anthony Hernandez would've smoked RDR?

A worry I had going into tonight’s fight was the multiple weight cuts in such a short amount of time for a big guy like RDR. Not excusing his performance just throwing that out there

I will be interested to see wtf RDR has to say after this debacle. Allen made him quit on his tool.

I'm not a big proponent of MMAth but, Hernandez would have merced him, no doubt.

I mean, Fluffy is the MW Merab and Reindeer has shown cardio issues in the past. It's one of the most predictable outcomes in MMA you can get.

I’d have to strongly disagree.

Fluff has rudimentary wrestling, a weak body, and got his back taken multiple times by gatekeeper Brendan Allen. He’s a mediocre athlete at best.

He’d get absolutely SMOKED by Khamzat, who has bro even beat?
Why do you keep saying Allen is a gatekeeper? He's 9-2 in his last 11 fights. He might not be champion, but that's more of a Fight IQ thing than a skill thing. He made some errors in the Fluffy fight. He could have won it.

That’s more like a skill and talent thing over anything, he looks good against these one dimensional soccer dad BJJ guys like Muniz, Craig, RDR etc, but he can’t beat any actual well rounded or talented contenders.

Strickland smoked him, Chris Curtis knocked him into next week, Fluff is 2-0 against him, Imavov beat him.

Brendan doesn’t have the talent to get over that hump. He’s also chinny with a questionable gas tank anytime he’s the nail.

Good gatekeeper but nothing more imo.

But who would be more interesting?

The only other option is Imavov, and that doesn't seem that interesting to me. Maybe I'm wrong.

He's 29. I can excuse the Strickland and Curtis losses from years ago when he was 24/25. Imavov is currently #1 contender and Brendan could have won the Fluffy fight if he made better decisions.

It's really looking like Khamzat is going to have a LONG title reign though isn't it?

You’re right about Allen’s age, but the problem I see with that is that he already has a long fighting career with accumulated wear n tear and multiple KO losses. I just dk how much more upside he has. Also, like you said: he doesn’t make very good fight decisions… specifically when he’s the nail. Maybe he has a nice run who knows? I’d like to see him matched with DDP or Caio.

Btw Agreed. I don’t see any threat to Khamzat in the near future at MW.

RDR is a quitter and making people quit is Fluffy speciality.

Because he’s a terrible poster lol

On paper, nobody is a threat to Khamzat. He might as well retire at this point since fighting sub par competition is just a waste of time.

Most of us who understand what they're watching thought that BEFORE last night.

RDR was ~ a -200 favorite over Allen
Fluffy was ~a -250 favorite over RDR when the fight was scrapped.
