Anyone still not sold on Paddy?

Completely not sold.

Dude has been fighting on the washed up seniors circuit since getting embarrassed by Jared.

Tony was nearly 40 (had lost 6 in a row)
King Green was 37 (losing record over the last decade)
Chandler is 38 (1-4 in his last 5)
It shouldn't come as a surprise that a fighter is fighting older fighters on losing streaks while climbing up the rankings, since the top 5-10 mostly just kept fighting each other for as long as possible.

Generally top ranked guys won't accept a lower ranked guy unless they are on losing streaks against the other top guys.
More often than not the top 5-10 guy on a losing streak will be on the older side.

I went from thinking hew overrated as hell.

He fought aggressive, he fight very exciting.

His ground game is far and above what I gave him credit for.
Literally every tiny movement, from the hip placement to pivoting and transtitioning and so on was effectively perfect. He's one of the few fighters to use mount to its actual potential.

Sure, his striking could get a little tighter, but it's still effective.

I don't remember the last time I was this off base about a fighter.

If you can't can't beat number one guy to a pulp in one round with ease then you suck, is normal on Sherdog.
Paddy is legit, he may not have the championship caliber skills yet but I'm not sure how people can deny he is very good, he improved a ton since he joined the UFC and will continue to do so.
I really wish people would give up this "he will get beat by number two guy so it means he sucks" lol. And I don't mean specifically about Paddy, it's a norm on Sherdog regardless of weight class.
If you are not too 2 you are not elite according to Shermanos. You suck and you should retire.

Chandler looked terrible and his already low fight IQ appeared to be lower in this fight.

Paddy also looked at least one weight class above Chandler.

Despite all this, Paddy was impressive in how easily he got Chandler out of there.

Still don’t think Paddy is ready for either Arman or Ilia tho.
<puhlease>
I think Paddy s a legit contender but not ready or Islam give him one of the guys he called out f he wins that then lets reevaluate. imho

And who is ready for Islam? Maybe Arman but even that is a question mark.

He seems to have improved, but let’s be honest, Chandler is just shit and he’s not getting any better with age.

Bro has been given favorable fights. I won't be convinced until he fights an Arman. Chandler is over rated, he beat Dan Hooker and losing streak Tony in his 4 year UFC run.

I think Paddy is a good fighter and top 10 level in the UFC. But I am not sold on him yet and don't think he's proven as a top level LW.

Paddy has been given favorable styles match ups to build him up. He had some trouble with Gordon and then was given Green who is an older fighter and mid-tier, then Ferguson who has a big name but was way beyond his best years. And then Chandler, who's name is bigger than his ability. I don' think Chandler was passed his best years, but I don't think he's the top of the division either.

Once we see him fight Gaethje, Poirier, Charles, Arman then we'll see whether he's top level. Even match ups like Moicano, Gamrot, Hooker would be good. But like I said, the UFC gave him veterans passed it and Chandler to build him up. It was clear they we're giving him the right fighs to move him along.

LOL, check my post above.

Well the fact that he cuts from 205 to make 155 means he has a godly worth ethic. We cant count him out, he also has not even reached his prime yet.

Damn straight bro. We are on the same page. Paddy is a great fighter, but im not convinced that he is world class yet. His grappling is very good, but I think the top 5 still beats him. They are starting to get old though.

He's good, a proper big lad. His leg kicks are going to be a problem for quite a few of the top 5 who don't believe in checking. How long will his kidneys hold up with his obesity cuts however? I think he moves up here before too long.

He beat the piss outta Chandler way easier than Poirier and Charles LOL. Oh wait I guess Paddy hasn't been beat by Arman or get dominated by Khabib. Damn he can't be better than those guys then

Fuck off dunce

He is getting better, I think Charles likely beats him, But I think he takes Justin and Dustin. But I think those two are right on the cliff of there peaks or gently on the way down already. Arman/Ilia and Islam all beat Patty imho.

He looked impressive but Chandler is like a bazillion yrs old and was 2-4 in the UFC (to be fair, his losses were all highly ranked guys). I think Paddy is top 10 level, which is much better than I thought when he eked by Gordon (I think Gordon should’ve won). I still do not think Paddy is top 5 level. Chandler was somehow ranked 7 when his last win was the ghost of Ferguson

Chandler is old and small for the division.

Paddy is young and big for the division.

Paddy winning doesn’t really tell us a whole lot.

I don't think he would by Gaethje and Poirier, I think he would put up a fight, but still lose. Olivera and Arman has no issues with him. Topuira would KO him IMO
