As it should be. Now we can finally be free of the Gaethje/Poirier/Chandler/Oliveira match-ups and get some new blood at the top of 155.

If he loses his next step up (title eliminator) I wouldn't mind seeing him face a younger guy on a winstreak to defend his ranking.

The problem is the new blood wasn't good enough to beat those guys. There were new contenders in recent years, Fiziev, BSD, Hooker, Gamrot, and none of them were able to break through fighting them. Only one who made it was Arman and barely.

With Paddy it is very clear he's getting favorable match ups vs older veterans on losing streaks that have names in the division to build him up. It's fabricated. He gets the easy road while guys like Arman, Gamrot, BSD, Fiziev actually have to fight real up and coming contenders.

Dariush also beat Gamrot, if I recall correctly.

I do think Paddy has levelled up though with his distance management, defense, kicking game, etc.

We will find out shortly how much he has improved, nowhere to hide in the top 5.

Chandler was a guy who was just very fortunate. He had the UFC backing him and he had very good management. Like he was 1-3 and got #2 Olivera.

We'll know just how good Paddy is when he faces one of the top 5 guys. But he has improved his game no doubt. I like the guy, I hope he keeps winning. Just not vs Olivera lol.
