Bisping's career was not really that calculated beyond his initial TUF push. Bisping pretty much fought everyone regardless of their style and ability.

What...it has several guys who could reasonably contend. There are plenty of guys Paddy could beat that would make people interested.

That's not to mention it just added Tofiq Musayev, Max Holloway, and Topuria. I'm sure some guy will be like "did you know Charles Oliveria is pas his prime", which isn't really true, but like...what? Arman Tsaryukan still hasn't fought Islam yet. There are plenty of guys who are clearly good at 155.

You think this is THE WEAKEST its ever been? There were times when Nate Diaz was fighting for the title and Eddie Alvarez was the champion.

So you named 2 FW’s and Tofiq Musayev?? Come on, Arman is smaller than Topuria and is a poor man’s Islam. He literally has 0 shot to beat Islam. Gaethje, Charles, Poirier are retiring soon and are all more than beaten up and old and this is the top, which is awful. There’s literally not 1 threat to Islam in the division. You can talk about « good » guys but not great. Gamrot, Fiziev are all good, yes, but no where near great.

Give the shot to Topuria and then Paddy, but that just shows how terrible the LW division is. They gave the shot to frkinh Moicano, basically a youtuber ffs albeit short notice. And before that to a FW twice. There’s not even 1 dangerous LW out there to fight Islam.

I thought Paddy looked juiced to the tits and Chandler looked beyond terrible.

Paddy looked legitimately good though, he had more power in some of his shots than I thought he was capable of. Still not entirely sure what he'd look like against a Gathje or Arman. It's hard to picture how he wins those fights, but maybe he's better than I thought. And some of the guys in the top 10 aren't getting any younger.

Charles couldn't finish Chandler like 3 months ago. Paddy beat the piss out of him with ease. Yea MMA math bla bla, but it's obvious that Paddy is MUCH better than most people thought.

I wouldn't say he's guaranteed to be champ, but he can mix it with them all.

i've never really liked the guy but i thought he could make it into the top 15 or top 10, just due to his ruggedness
turns out he got some help along the way, he lost that fight vs Jared Gordon and everyone knows it
but he's hitting his stride now. i think he will be a fixture among the top 10 for the next few years. probably will get a title shot at some point because the UFC want to push him. but i would not favor him to beat anyone in the top 5 right now.

When Paddy starts beating people that are on a similar path to him, and similar age, then he'll start getting more respect. You can't just beat up past their prime people and expect to be lauded as the GOAT.

I'm just happy Paddy got Chandler out of the top 10 taking up space when we all knew Chandler wasn't a top 10 fighter at LW. Anything to get the Oliveira/Gaethje/Poirier/Chandler circle of fighting each other over and over again broken up I support.
