Anyone here doesn't like Robert Whittaker?

I feel like Whittaker is the third greatest middleweight of all time. His wins include Romero x2 (even though maybe one was controversial), close to prime Jacare, Tavares, Brunson, Cannonier, Till, Gastelum, Costa, Vetorri, with only the two losses to Izzy and one to DDP. He’s truly elite, a former champ, and is pretty elite everywhere.

Perhaps. And that maybe speaks to the detriment of the division.

What a great idea. Let’s not focus on fighters we like, let’s make threads about fighters we don’t like and then gather like-minded people so we can take a crap on these fighters. Anti-fandom.
Oh, and call people who disagree retards. What could go wrong?

Cannonier is another boring fighter from this division. To be fair, MW is my least favorite division
There is only one solution: don´t watch it.
And if it so: why are you running a thread about a MW?

Asking for a friend....

Whittaker seems like a decent person, but I was never blown away by his fight style. He shocked me with his TDD and toughness against Yoel, but besides those fights I feel like he gets more attributed to him than he shows. He's not a bad fighter, usually comes in with a decent gameplan. But people were acting like he was the Max of MW.

Lost money probably.

OR, he hyped up Rob to his friends and they were disappointed.

I mean, how can you NOT like Whittaker?

Excuse me pricks but Yushin Okami was never a big MW.

- Fought the bigger Rich Franklin as a lanky 6'2" who barely cut weight for 185:

- Weighted-in at soft 200lbs with clothes on for a week-notice bout vs OSP at LHW

Barely above average sized WW in modern day
A below average sized MW by today standards.
A tiny MW by Pereira's standards.

I actually put Robert in near Shogun-tier for me. He's one of the few guys I root for these days. I admit he can be frustrating to watch though. He's a bit of a decision machine but I don't really think it's from a lack of trying. Almost every fighter he gets matched up with its notoriously hard to finish.

He's a bit predictable and wish he had more of a ground game but I still enjoy watching him fight.

I honestly don't feel one way or the other on Whittaker(sure I'm not the only one) and that might be his biggest problem. Good fighter, but there is a lot good fighters.

He doesn't give fans much of reason to care outside of being a good fighter. Will we tune in, sure. But he isn't getting blow joe to tune in.

Ok fella, but what your post has to do with the posts you quoted?

Much like my opinion, it amazes me how some random fighters just become darlings of the community and can't be criticized

If you hate Whittaker.. You’re most likely a shitheel. The dude is all class, imo.

If you fail to read the post you're probably a shitheel. Frankie Edgar was one of the nicest people on the roster but I didn't care much about his fight at some point

People that hate on Whittaker are just weird, the guy has done nothing but fight and go home to play his video games. He's a bit of a point fighter sure, but he also fights the who's who of his division and hasn't avoided anyone. The sport would be better off with more fighters like Whittaker.
