Anyone else miss Japan?

I'll never forgive ufc for putting their only ppv there with Benson Henderson and Frankie Edgar as the main event lol

It looks like there are a bunch of their fights free on Youtube. Do you have to have Showtime to watch their streams? Or do you watch them later?

I watched a few clips on Youtube and it's interesting b/c the crowd is pretty quiet (unless there is a good move or something) but they must have mics right in on the ring b/c you can HEAR those shots hitting. It goes to show how those shots actually sound in real life!! Crazy.

I watched Kai Asakura vs Horiguchi.

I can't quite see if he throws a straight right to bait Timmy first or not. But after he hurts him it's winging punches!!!

What I miss mostly about 20 years ago is my youth. Pride as well, but it wouldn’t get into the top 10 of things I miss.
Also, I try to catch as many One and Rizin events as I can.

Sean o Malloy and prime conor had great lead/straights. Floyd is a great example of a straight right and lead right hands

fite.tv has them for like 20 bucks for the event, free replays
 
I'll take the passionate meat heads in USA and Brazil over the golf clapping Japanese.

Japan is a really weird racist misogynistic culture. Only in Japan is rape man a movie, it's also a franchise, there's 3 tge last i was aware. The tag line is righting wrongs through penetration.

Showtime really only is concerned where Bellator is involved, they have one or two RIZIN fighters on Showtime. The legit RIZIN portions are on Fite.tv, they're normally around $20 with lifetime replays. If you find that you're interested enough to watch on Fite (I'd just do what you're doing for now, you've got around 6 weeks until the next RIZIN card), I can send you a code that will gets you Fite points, and if you in turn give Fite points you get them back as well. 20 points, I believe, and you get a free card. They also constantly have deals where you get 2 full events for $25. It's a great value, especially with lifetime replays.

I believe you should be able to watch all of the fights from the two most recent events on YouTube, although it's strictly the individual fights. If Super RIZIN 2 isn't available yet, it probably will be prior to the next card. SR2 and RIZIN 43 were both quality.

Glad you're interested, it's a familiar and memorable product.
 
I loved Pride, and would stay up all night just to read a play by play lol. Those were the days. I'm not even sure what the last MMA event I watched was. I don't think I have watched any this year at all. Just a few single fights. I watched Fedors last fight, Nemkov's last one and Garry Tonon's. I think that's it. It's not the same anymore.

I like a raucous crowd to a degree but still prefer the subdued Japanese audience. Watching and hearing them go from 0-100 during an exciting fight's crescendo is really special.

They have serious, and I mean serious issues regarding sexism though. We're in total agreement there.

Ya, loving hear the quiet crowd immediately explode when excitment happens. They seem to understand the fight game a bit more.
