Any brand snobs in here?

I was recently semi loyal to Dodge as a brand car/truck wise as I own both.. but that’s going to change going forward unless they get sold and get back to making badass cars.. I’m also kind of a BMW Stan too with the M series cars and B58/S58 motors..
What, you don't want a twin turbo charger lol

I pay for better quality if it gives me more utility. Maybe I'm a reverse brand snob because I wouldn't be caught dead with a Rolex or Gucci because I associate those brands with overpriced shit that cheaper substitutes do better.

I've tried products at many price points and stick with brands that offer the best value for my money. If I get a lemon, I'll re-assess and switch brands if another one does it better

-Target gold toe socks (both nylon dress socks and ankle length athletic socks) and Evolve boxer briefs also from Target
-Japanese cars. I've been happy with Toyota and Subaru but wouldn't hesitate to go Nissan, Mazda or Honda.
I love gold toe as well! They are fantastic. So comfy.

As for cars, I would be careful about lumping in Nissan with the other Japanese brands. Their quality is more on par with Kia.

Southwest, Spirit, Jet Blue, Alaska... If you're talking US carriers
Exactly. Try a foreign airline, delta won't look so good.

FWIW I used to be a gold stays and diamond one year with Delta.

Why the hell not?

I had a 335i with N55 engine that I sold at 95,000 miles and the engine never gave me trouble. The only issue I ever had with that car was around the 90,000 mile mark and it had to do with a bad connection to a water pump that caused it to drain the battery when the car was off.

Now have M340i with B58TU approaching 60k miles and 0 issues so far..

I do have loyalty to adidas for athletic gear, but it isn't so much out of brand snobbery- it's because their athletic pants, shorts and jackets often have zipper pockets. The last thing I want to worry about at the gym, park or on the trail is having stuff fall out of my pockets. I get tops to match those.

I definitely wouldn't mind spending less on that stuff- shit I'd happily wear Champion or Russell Athletic or some store brand stuff, but you'd be surprised at how hard it is to find pants or shorts with zipper pockets.

A twin turbo V8 would be cooler.. but seriously the brand is headed down the drain right now and if something doesn’t change.. it’ll be headed to extinction

Came very very close to ordering an M2 but I went with a truck instead (2024 Power Wagon completely decked out).. but the M2 is the best bang for the buck right now imo.. for 65k (if you can find a dealer that doesn’t do mark ups) you can order a loaded M2 that has the same engine as the M3 and M4 (S58 with smaller turbo setup), but is lighter than the other 2. That thing is a bargain for today for today’s cars.

And btw, I wanted to correct you in one of the other threads but didn’t bother responding in there (I think it was the Charger thread).. BMW underrates their hp numbers.. not only that, but their numbers are closer to wheel hp than crank hp (which is traditionally used for American muscle).. many people are dyno-ing these M cars from the factory and getting 500 or 500+ to the wheel.. a 2000$ flash tune can put you close to 700whp.. that’s insane.

Bottom line is the S58 is a fucking monster (B58 in the Supra and M240 are great too tho Toyota tweaked their B58 a bit)

Yeah, Ralph Lauren Polo collared shirts. They have a longer....tail or whatever on the backside than any other brand.

Or.. they used to.

Now it's just a triangle piece or a slightly long tail, like any other collared shirt.

I need the longer tails cuz I have a wide back and that lil extra bit does the trick.

Reached out to ralph Lauren and they have a classic fit. Bought a black and a green. Came in both faded. Sent them back, same shit. They said cuz it's the classic look, it has faded colors, as if it was from the late 90s. The fuck?! $90 for some faded shit?

Do you have a brand you absolutely have to buy in regards to a certain product? Say with shoes? Only Nikes or whatever?

Mine is dish soap. I refuse to buy anything other than Dawn. And clothes detergent has to be Tide. There are others, but that is the first one to spring to mind. Are any of you brand snobs too, my fellow Gayberrians?
Heinz ketchup or gtfo

for shoes i have always got Vans i just like how they look and feel.

Heinz ketchup
This was my answer the only other one that is borderline acceptable is French's but it's got a tangy kinda taste to it but not horrible. I can't even believe people buy off brand ketchup.

You are well informed.

I am well aware BMW underrates their HP numbers. I regularly run 93 octane so my real HP number is probably somewhere between 420 and 440. In that thread in particular I was trying to make the point that Chargers and Challengers have these giant HP claims but have trouble keeping up with cars with significantly lower HP ratings. The point I wanted to make is those numbers don't mean as much as people think, but Dodge likes to capitalize on people's ignorance. Some of the German brands however, don't need to make these bold claims to get people to buy and love their cars. The enthusiasts (like you and me) later are pleasantly surprised to learn what their vehicles are capable of.

On that note- I'd just tell you to not rule out the M240i.. that thing is quite the beast and with mods it can beat a stock M2 for less $. If you don't want to mod and can shell out the cash then definitely get the M2. You can't go wrong either way :)
