Any brand snobs in here?

Do you have a brand you absolutely have to buy in regards to a certain product? Say with shoes? Only Nikes or whatever?

Mine is dish soap. I refuse to buy anything other than Dawn. And clothes detergent has to be Tide. There are others, but that is the first one to spring to mind. Are any of you brand snobs too, my fellow Gayberrians?
Yup. I only buy Sony televisions. They cost more but I've never had one die on me.

Hard to be brand loyal these days because they have different CEO's with different dirty tricks to maxmiize profits, so the name is the same, but quality differs.

i have brand loyalty

adidas over nike
coke over pepsi
carhartt over levis
honda over toyota
chevy over ford (maybe not the trucks)
mcdonalds over burger king

etc etc etc all day long. there is ALWAYS a best option.

Ktm dirtbikes. They been the leader in moving 2 stroke technology ahead and the Japanese don't make a 350 thumper. I can't ride a dirtbike with a clutch cable. I have had about 12 ktms and not once have they let me down. Currently I have 7

Not so much a brand snob but when I find a shoe I like I stick with it. I went like a decade where all I wore was the Nike Air Max running shoes. Now the last 3-4 years all I wear is OnCloud running shoes. I just love how lightweight and breathable they are.
I've been with Asics for over a decade. Tried a Hoka but didn't feel right. Hard to find those top of the line Asics on sale, so I've just bought a pair of Saucony and Salomon to try later this year.

I prefer mine heated over some red hot coals as opposed to a blowtorch like these kids nowdays.

Only if it's a quality thing. If I find another product that's better I have no brand loyalty and couldn't give a shit if it's a trendy or popular name.

jackson guitars they just have that sexy heavy metal headstock

Only reason I stick to a brand is because I know it's reliable and can't be bothered to try something that might not be. I tend to buy the same clothing brand once I've tried them and like them. Clothing can vary wildly in quality and comfort.

been an Adidas guy most of my life, but Asics & Saucony have have been my most reliable favorites for sneakers for a few years now. NB is aiiight too, but Asics & Saucony are #1 & #2 w/ a bullet for me

Not really. I do typically buy Adidas shoes because I have wide feet and their shoes fit for some reason.
But I have Asics running shoes.

I can’t think of any product for which I will only buy a specific brand.

I pay for better quality if it gives me more utility. Maybe I'm a reverse brand snob because I wouldn't be caught dead with a Rolex or Gucci because I associate those brands with overpriced shit that cheaper substitutes do better.

I've tried products at many price points and stick with brands that offer the best value for my money. If I get a lemon, I'll re-assess and switch brands if another one does it better

-Target gold toe socks (both nylon dress socks and ankle length athletic socks) and Evolve boxer briefs also from Target
-Japanese cars. I've been happy with Toyota and Subaru but wouldn't hesitate to go Nissan, Mazda or Honda.
-Quaker oatmeal. Store brands don't taste as good.
-Asics running shoes. In the military I bought whatever name brand was on sale at the PX (which was usually Nike) and fucked up my knees running in the cheapest ones. The PX didn't carry them but the gel Nimbus I sprung for in early 00's were WAY more comfortable and I'm going on 20 years running in Asics. I'm sure Nike makes fine running shoes but I can't shake the negative experience I had with them.
