Any brand snobs in here?

Absolutely this! It is basically a brand and item to me, like a “Q-tip”.

When I was an electrician, we would say to go get some loctite, even though you could get any smaller easily applied glue that you wanted.
the other day my friend dropped a lil tchotchke that chipped. i asked for some super glue so i could fix it for them real quick. then they handed me some Gorilla Super Glue Gel (a perfectly fine gel don't get me wrong, but it sure as hell ain't got shit on the superior Loctite) & i put the fear of god into them w/ the look of disgust i shot at them. i then told them if they had even a shred of self respect for themselves, they'd be a Loctite man.

Gorilla has good wood glue. I’ll give them that. Helped fix up some tables and is holding up well

No so much a snob, but I'll buy a brand if it's significantly better than the competitors at a reasonable price. I certainly don't purchase things for primarily status.

Me as well. It’s a bad term to use, I guess. Couldn’t think of an equivalent.

i think Gorilla is a quality brand, & their variety of products is unmatched in the glue game, but at the end of the day it ain't GOATed like Loctite.

For keys my favorite rig is

Access Virus Ti 61
Hammond Sk1
Yamaha P45

So i guess I am a little less monogamous there.

Moog is sexy.
Hopefully one day I can afford one.

For sure. I like their stuff just fine, just not as much as loctite.

Off topic, but what is your go-to power tool brand? You seem like you might have one too. If you say Makita, you’re dead to me… not really though.

I used these adidas flat skater shoes to workout in. They stopped making them so I need to switch brands. I tried wearing other brands and it was kind of shit.

i don't really use them often enough to have a preference, but i go for the Milwaukee or Kobalt whenever i need the power drill, impact wrench, or sawzall at work (over the Craftsman or Dewalt; we don't have any Makita tools so i have no opinion).

i think that maybe we are brought together by our love of Loctite for completely different reasons/functions (besides the odd around-the-house quick fix glue job). i use Loctite religiously for my """art""" rather than occupationally. i'd say this speaks not only to the superior quality of Loctite, but also its versatility.

Nice. I have heard great things about the Virus.

I have a matriarch hooked up to a Eurorack and some effects pedals. I can make all kinds of weird sounding shit...

Do you use Ableton?

Plenty of Nike/Jordan snobs are poor....
Yeah, you guys are right. Poor choice of words on my behalf.

Still, plenty of reasons to stick with a brand than being young or poor. Guess brand loyalty is a better choice of words, though I many are still snobby about it, and roll their eyes at the choices other than the ones they would make for themselves.

ProTools for about 20 years, switched to Logic last year.

Did this one in logic:

I really dig the "drummer" tracks in Logic.
Great for funk.

This one in ProTools:

I like ProTools WAY WAY WAY better for midi/sequencing

But they are greedy bastards and after I bought a "Lifetime ProTools 9 or 10" they stopped supporting it and charge absurd recurring fees so fuck em

I am so glad I sprung for the 5 octave keyboard for the Virus. I have LOVED having a proper analogue modeling board for gigs with filly tweakable save-able sounds, love being able to filter sweep pads and adjust resonances and stuff like that.

Yes you "can" use a synth patch on let's say my Yamaha Motif es6, but it just ain't quite the same and doesn't have that same hair raising dopamine releasing kind of power if you know what I mean.

What type of stuff do you do with the Moog, Ableton, etc? Got any tracks?

Do you have a brand you absolutely have to buy in regards to a certain product? Say with shoes? Only Nikes or whatever?

Mine is dish soap. I refuse to buy anything other than Dawn. And clothes detergent has to be Tide. There are others, but that is the first one to spring to mind. Are any of you brand snobs too, my fellow Gayberrians?
No, never but my nephew did in high school. He'd get my grandfather to buy him $200+ Lebron shoes or other expensive clothes. I never understood it. But now he graduated and is entering the Air Force, hopefully he stops caring about brand name stuff.
