Yeah, it's a token gesture and it's weird. Thing is, before WMMA came into the UFC, flyweights were the token gesture, ironically. Every card, the flyweights would get lauded as being FOTN via Rogan jizzing over how "super technical" they were to cover up the fact the fights were usually boring decisions. Once WMMA came in, they became the token gesture. It's an attempt at brainwashing viewers into liking it. "Oh, they won bonuses.....maybe I'm not as knowledgable a fan as I thought.....I should shut my mouth and pay closer attention to them in the future".
