Anthony Smith is probably done in the top

I'll be that guy. Anthony Cat Heart Smith is the perfect example of "never that good" especially after the Jones fight, he hasn't looked good since and had just a stint of wins prior that made him seem higher ranked that he should of been.

Yea this is true. Smith was a decent fighter but he happened to come to 205 when it was between challengers and got a title shot off basically one above average win.

He had a solid career.

Considering how Smith wasn't ever a top guy and has declined a lot, I still can't believe he didn't take the DQ win over Jones in 2019. Yeah he didn't want to win the belt that way but who cares? Business is business and he would have gave his family some fame and money. The immediate rematch would have obviously done well. Sometimes you want pride but it gets in the way of reality. Lost opportunity for prestige even if selling your soul.

Dude's had 54 fights, his body is just done. As others have mentioned, hopefully he gets a job at the UFC desk, I'd hate to see him destroying himself further in BKFC or wherever

He's mid in the cage and in the booth
The highlight of his career was almost getting Jones dqed lol

Agree with others in this thread that Smith wasn’t ever truly a top guy. Beat a few big names who were well past their prime, but otherwise pretty much got handled by every top contender he fought. Seems like a nice guy and hopefully can keep that desk job.

Hey, it worked out great for Aljo so far, so honestly, one of the worst decisions in MMA on Smith's part. Also, I wholeheartedly believe he lost his mental game once he couldn't handle a meth'd out 170lber, that's the whole "uR cOmIn fOr my FAMILUH!" mumbling was about, he was put into a life or death situation and was found wanting, he tried to use the fear to psych himself up but he he just looked like shit tbh.

I gotta agree, he's out the top 5 for good now.

He should accept easier bouts

I don't get what he meant by "You're atacking my family" ?

No probably done about it. Smith looked like he was stuck in quicksand. On a side note; how bad is Walker if he can't even finish a stationary and hurt Smith? Come onnnnnnnnnnn! LHW division is fucking weak if Walker in the top 5!

He has more skill than the overwhelming majority of LHWs but has a lot of mileage...

Lionheart has officially shit the bed. Shame he came close but froze in front of Jones when given the opportunity.

yeah he has taken too much damage. Clearly isn't the same fighter he was 5 years ago. He's still not old for lhw but some fighters just age worse than others in this game. 4 years ago he would have demolished JW

He wasn't a great fighter 5 years ago either.

Career journeyman who got some favorable matchups with big name guys who were washed or on the way out.

The best guys mop the floor with the guys who mop the floor with Smith.

dude looked completely washed. talks all that trash, keep that same energy in the cage

He is a journeyman that will lose to any top guy , he is not past his prime, he was just never good.

Hes ben done imo after his loss to Glover he seemed to degrade before that then jbj

I didnt see him beating any top 5 guys anymore
