News Anthony Pettis leaves the UFC

Tbh I think the old Anthony Pettis would have KO’d that Moron dude, he wobbled him at the end but he had like 2 full rounds to work on the feet and could have done more.
The Pettis that fucked up Bendo would have def finished Morono.

Did he regress that much , or did it just transpire that higher class pressure fighters with a gas tank and even just decent fighters who use that tactic, reduce his options and make it very hard for him? I think is far more the latter.

UFC is ridiculously cheap. But understandable. He probably won’t become champ again so no point in paying him more than the $8k/8k these new kids are fighting for.

I remember when he was on that Wheaties box back in the day. He was Dana’s golden boy.

Back when he was better than Anderson Silva

Goddamn, I'm old.
I hear ya there. I was like 27 when the Showtime kick happened lol

For added context, I rented UFC 1 from Blockbuster at 14 years old in the 90s... I was a regular enough that they knew my parents would let me watch it so they didn't make them come in so I could rent it.

Scott Coker must be licking his lips
Good for him. I would love to see him against Daley & MVP in Bellator, but the PFL 155 tourney could be his for the taking. Or even the 170 tournament, maybe fight Rory at some point.

If he goes to Bellator at 155 he could fight the Pitbull brothers. Beat the worse one, then let the other come up after he wins the 145 tourney.
Bellator already signed Romero, Rumble, Machida, Davis, Mittrione, Fedor.... They don't have deep pockets like the UFC does. At some point, they can't afford all the UFC's cuts. My gut feeling says that's now. I think they broke the bank for Romero and Rumble, and what value does Pettis add above them?

I remember when Pettis was just a contender in the wec, his fight with Castillo was when he got my attention, been a fan ever since, I wish him the best.

His ko over Thompson still doesn't make sense to me, I feel like that shouldn't have ever happened, glad he's got atleast one big win on back end of his ufc career

Good luck to him. Get out while you can. Bellator’s pockets aren’t that deep and if he waits trio, others might scoop in that money before he can. Hoping to see him and Bendo rematch.

Bellator LW division is pretty wide open at the moment, I could see him taking the belt. Especially if Patricio vacates.

WEC, UFC and Bellator champion would be a huge accomplishment.

Pretty sure he said, very recently, that he plans to stay at 155, and his ventures into 170 were out of "pure laziness". We shall see.
