Anthony Joshua injured in Car Accident in Nigeria. 2 others dead.

This whole thing reminds me of how much I hate interent sensationalism.

so many clickbait titles. ANTHONY JOSHUA INVOLVED IN FATAL CRASH etc

It's sickening.
That isn't clickbait, it's the literal and direct truth. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
No one took any of that seriously.
The fact that Lewis didn't have kids at the time did lessen the impact somewhat.

Yes, it is.

It implies AJ died when you can just clearly state that is not the case, like the thread title I made did.

But you already know that.
There's nothing to argue about, you are just objectively wrong.

maybe not that particular quote but early on, lots of people hated how Tyson said things like that. By the time of the Lennox fight? Hope was lost in his ever being a true great, or at the very least even a hint of what was expected of him and he was seen as more a freakshow attraction who's biggest draw was that he might bit someone or something.

But trust me, i was young and watching at the time of Tyson's rise and lots of people took exception to the "nose bone to his brain" type of talk, whether they were other boxers or people who knew Mike and wanted him to look civilized.

kinda made it funnier honestly. Then Mike bites him at the pre fight, taking "a significant chunk" out of Lewis' thigh. Mike was long past being seen as a peer to Michael Jordan in terms of how dominant a champion he would be.

From looking at this, he says many times that what he is saying doesn't apply to their situation but he's just putting it out there.

I see your "John Fury says something kinda dumb" and I'll raise you a "Bryce Mitchell goes full retard"

I looked it up to see if he said this before the fight (which would have been eerily prescient) or afterwards. Its from yesterday lol, the man can't get right

I will never get tired of John Fury hurling tables everywhere

I thought him headbutting the kid was bullshit tho

Do you guys think Anthony Joshua would retire from boxing after this near death experience?
I dont see him boxing again personally but who knows. What happened to him yesterday is a life changing event, its something you would never get over. I hope he didnt have to see the state his friends were in on the road.

He will be out for a long time even if he did ever come back and considering hes 37 next year I dont see it.

Haven’t read the story yet other than he was out cold for 30 minutes afterwards

Sad sad story and I hope he grows from this

I hope his pockets weren’t fleeced afterwards either. The place is known for high level thievery and apparently more people were concerned with videoing the incident rather than helping people

This moron has no idea how bad he's going to get sued. Jake has sued people for posting social media messages saying he rigs his fight, imagine how hard he's going to come down on a UFC public figure claiming he's committed murder.

Heard about this on the news after it happened. It's very unfortunate that a couple of his friends died. If I were him I'd be taking some time off to process what just happened. Boxing isn't going anywhere.

[Had to remove link to get the post through - the article is on Sky Sports.]

The driver of the car involved in a fatal crash that injured Anthony Joshua and killed two of his close friends has been charged by Nigerian police with causing death by dangerous driving and driving without a licence.

The Ogun State Police Command confirmed that Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode, 46, had been charged in court earlier on Friday, with the case adjourned until the 20th of January for trial.

Joshua, 36, was taken to hospital where medical staff determined that he did 'not require any emergency interventions' and was discharged on Wednesday.

Kayode was charged on four counts, which were dangerous driving causing death, reckless and negligent driving, driving without due care and attention - causing bodily harm and damage to property, and driving without a valid national driving licence.

The defendant was granted bail in the sum of 5,000,000 Naira (£2,578) and was remanded pending his bail conditions being met.

The collision happened around 11am in Makun on Monday, around 30 miles from Lagos. The Federal Road Safety Corps said the Lexus was suspected to be travelling in excess of the speed limit and lost control while overtaking.
