This looks terrible sadly. Just watched the trailers... I'm sure Marvel will do ok with it but this appears to be a pretty big miss. Apparently I'm not the only one.

Closer Look at ANT-MAN Suit and New Details on the Pym Particles

Built by Hank Pym, the Ant Man suit is designed to give it's wearer extraordinary powers to shrink in size, grow in strength and communicate with ants. Dr. Henry Pym originally discovered and isolated a rare group of subatomic particles, which have become known as the "Pym Particles", which could increase or decrease the size and mass of objects or living beings. The Pym Particles work by stunting matter into the Kosmos Dimension when shrinking a subject or accruing extra matter from that dimension when enlarging.

ANT-MAN Stands Up to Yellowjacket in Extended TV Spot

Marvel feeling they need to push this film by piggybacking on all their other stuff isn't a good sign. Either the movie itself didn't turn out very good and/or the early metrics are dismal.

Or they're setting up Civil War.

Last I knew Thor wasn't in Civil War, yet he's still being referenced in one of Ant-Man's promos. So I really don't think that's what's going on here.

He was in the process of being cloned, though. :icon_chee

Or maybe they are just throwing fans a few really cool bones.

This is a $100+ billion dollar company promoting a film that's part of a franchise that's pulled in $3.4 billion in world wide box office receipts. I just don't think that things like this get done because "it's cool" when there's hundreds of millions of dollars on the line. Easter eggs in films or cast/crew posting on social media, sure. National advertising, not so much.

Jbs only likes to look at the negatives of thing that just how his brain works.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I can't remember any other MCU films that released posters where some other character, who isn't in the film, took up far more space in the ad than the actual main character. If this is the first time they've done that I'd think there's got to be a reason.

Maybe I am a negative person at heart, but I can't help but thinking this is a way of tricking Little Timmy into thinking his favorite character has a new film coming out without actually being false advertising.

I think it's just a fun way to promote Ant-Man to the public by associating the character with the beloved Avengers. We all know that Ant-Man is not a popular or household name, so they do what they can to boost his profile to the public. I mean the marketing team would be stupid not to utilize the Avengers in some capacity to help promote the Ant-Man movie.

It's similar to the fun ads The Muppets and other films used by parodying other popular movies.

This statement is quite baffling to me. Ant-Man's gimmick is that he can shrink to a size of an ant. The promotional posters you were complaining is just a clever way to emphasize the tiny part. They also did a few teaser posters in the past that shows off his powers.

I hope Ant-Man bombs hard, but they probably would market it like this even if they were sure it was going to be a hit. It's just smart business to try to pull in the Avengers audience.
