Another horrendous fight night

Several fights have featured fighters on 3, even 4 fight losing streaks.

This is throwaway stuff from one perspective, but also pretty fucking important "last chance saloon" fights from an invested perspective.
I think the desperation mixed with a lower level of talent obviously leads to these stinker ass cards because lots of fighters just do enough to coast by so they dont get cut. Its very obvious that the UFC puts very little effort into the matchmaking of these cards and just use these events to justify paying you less or ending your contract.

Yes and no.

I think the matchmaking tonight could have been better.

On the other hand, no fight felt completely pointless outside of Barbosa-Belbita.

I'd love to book cards at this level, personally, and I'm sure people would still hate on them lol

You honestly are enjoying this? You are in the minority. Tell it like it is.

Am I enjoying every fight tonight? No. Are some of the fights good? Yes. There's multiple fights on this card. The outcome may vary. I watch a ton of football. There's a lot of boring games. But I do enjoy the sport, so I'll check them out too. Just like MMA.

I'm not telling you how to feel. I'm not saying you're wrong. All I'm saying is if you're not enjoying it, stop watching. Like I always tell people, be more selective in what you watch. Look at the play by play. Ask the boards which fights were good. Load up ESPN+ after. Watch those fights. Problem solved.

i havent even watched the last handful of these or at the very least, not turned in till the co-main, main event or the 3rd to last match at the earliest... and that makes me cool

This Lee fight is decent but no atmoshpere. It's the Apex. It was fun when Justin fought Tony. But no crowd reactions is just so different. I giuss don't ask for too much. Not all cards are for everyone.

The apex worked in 2020 because it was literally the only entertainment available. Other sports were shut down, bars/restaurants/clubs closed and in many places you weren't even allowed to go to a friend's place or have people over. Now none of that is a factor yet the UFC expects people to choose watching nobodies spar in an empty studio over all of those other options.

Matchmaking has been absolutely horrendous in 2025 more than any other year imo.

They need to get Joe Silva out of retirement or something because the UFC ship is tanking. They’re clueless.

PPV cards are getting slimmer in talent, while FN cards have become regional level showcasing with one mid headliner.
