Another horrendous fight night

You don't even actually watch MMA
I watched Torres KO Dober last week while out at dinner. Then Morreno came out, had no reason to look up again. Another boring decision fighter, like most.

Previous to that last fights watched was Ruffy KO Green, loved it.
skipped the bitches
Bahomondes retire Turner, no heart he's mentally done
Gaethje vs Fiziev , could watch every week.
Periera vs Ankaleav turned off in 2nd round, Magomed is boring AF

Previous to that, 311 just tuned in to see Machachev beat Moicano . I actually took the advise to quit watching if it all sucks and doesn't entertain anymore. Getting Saturdays back has been a fantastic tradeoff

Sure you did

The argument is that knockouts don't mean shit when it's over unknown low level fighters. The excitement for a card is measured beforehand, not when the fights are finished.

I don't feel that way at all. A lot of guys and gals on cards are unknowns for most fans, especially if we don't follow a lot of non-UFC organizations. If someone can show me great techniques and flashy finishes, I'm hyped to see them again.

Yeah it wasn't that great. I had more fun with the GLORY card that was on before it and even the ONE FC card that was the Friday before.

Watch when high on weedzz then, that might be the way to enjoy it lulz

Bare closeted slap fans inna di tread right now fam 🚪📡

I'd say I skip 90% of them. Sometimes I might tune in for 1 or 2 fights but most of the time, none at all. I have zero desire to watch filler fights that are just put on TV to fill a time slot. Unless there are some important stakes involved, why am I watching? Just out of boredom or because fights are on? That time has long passed where that's interesting.

I've been watching more boxing and muay thai lately because these fights are awful.

Same here... and I have 2 recommendations for you.

BKFC. 5 rounds, 2 minutes each, and fighters push a harder paces for the most part because they can, they are always within 2 minutes of a quick breather.

It is a unique combat sport and draws athletes from MMA , boxing and kickboxing. Closer to a "real fight" than even MMA in some ways, the violence factor is real. Dudes get hurt, faces get beat up and cut. Some of these Apex I turn in during the main event and barely any blood on the ground, not BKFC.
those poor bastards leak

Bare Knuckle KOs are different man. That balance ain't there, but the heart is willing and they will try, usually... a clean shot that is knuckle bone on skull may mean baby deer legs or faceplant, flatline. Out cold.

And if that somehow doesn't satisfy your bloodlust.. Lethwei

Muay Thai with headbutts. They train to use them as a tool and defend them. It's fun.

Apex cards are basically the strikeforce challenger series cards of the UFC. It's usually a decent main event with ranked guys, a solid vets fight and then generally prospects/debutants and people fighting to try and stay in the UFC.

Cards with crowds are usually a lot more stacked.

I still watch every card without fail, it's just a matter of when I get around to it. That being said, very often the unglamorous Fight Nights deliver the violence and the big-name PPV's underwhelm spectacularly. I say very often because that card on Saturday was absolute trash, with a couple notable exceptions.

I'm also a WMMA hater and struggle to interest myself in the manlet division and when you consider how much of that was on the card last night it was a given I'd be nonplussed about the event as a whole even if damn near every other fight didn't suck, which they pretty much did.

That was a bad event, point blank period.

2 worst things to happen to us fans, the ESPN deal and the Apex. You could see the quality drop not too long afterwards.

and people on here are talking about how they wish the UFC drops the PPV model

guess what fuck faces, the PPVs are the only cards that are kind of stacked nowadays, what do you think the quality of cards will be when it's a solely subscription product??

This is what happens when UFC gets guaranteed money and just throws whatever warm bodies they can onto cheap events.

Correct. I don't know the exact deal but presumably there's a min amount of events the UFC needs to provide for the ESPN deal, having cards at the Apex with lower level (cheap) fighters is an economically sound way to keep the events cranking over.

I honestly think the ufc should review their monthly events … just do like in the 2000s and set up a big pay per view per month and maybe one fight night once in a while…

I am going to start skipping some of the random Fight Nights. This one was straight awful. I have been watching every one, but man I don't think I can do it anymore.
