Ankalaev is one of the most unique fighters of all time.

His style and skillset is unique enough to make me want to see the fight.

If Poatan brings the fight to him like he normally does, Ank is gonna be forced to use everything he got instead of hanging back and potshot.

So even if you favor Poatan, and even I am doing that, I want to SEE this fight.

MMA fans need to stop being chicken shit sissies and let this shit play out. The guy fuckin deserved this fight, and Poatan win or lose is exciting so that's no excuse.

oh yeah I want to see Poatan vs this guy because this guy is really, really good.

But doesn't make him any more exciting.

Machida used to be considered boring though i'm sure most don't remember.

But I always tuned him because karate ftw and sometimes boring fighters can have amazing fights too, especially when it's best against the best

Ankalaev is just exceptional in being good and boring at the same time.

I remember when they were putting Okamis and MAchidas in prelims for being boring. I guess that's more than ten years ago, if not a lot more?

But oh man, Ankaleav is just on another level of bring boring.

Yea one can hope but I don’t believe Ank (as you’ve indicated) possesses the IQ to mix it up.

no he definitely coming into wrestle. But I don't think he has bjj to submit Alex. Not sure if he can keep Alex down.

Only thing is though, if he touches Alex first before Alex does. I think as good as Alex is, his chin is always going to be there. And lay and pray, is it possible for five rounds?

He comes across as highly stubborn. I could be wrong but he barely ever grapples. If he wanted to grapple and tap him out it would be done with ease.

What makes you think he’s going to start grappling ? He, like every other opponent of Pereira , is deluded and foolishly believes he can ko Alex. There’s not a chance in hell he touches Alex’s chin first. He’s too predictable.

Because he might be stupid, but he's not retarded.

Also, he's not stupid. You don't go on a run he is on with no fight IQ.

That doesn't happen.

Ankalaev isn't any more boring than Blachowicz or Rakic, it's just people don't like him, especially since Pereira is a fan favorite.

Rakic is usually pretty exciting. Jan is kinda Strickland, late career resurgence, and do seem to have more one shot knock out power than Ankalev.

Rakic I think was just trying to fight smarter against Ankalev coming off a ko loss.

Honestly I think UFC always liked Machida. Some fans thought he was boring and some fans picked up on his unique style. I think he was brought in as a special attraction from jump.

This current roster of LHW's are no murderers row. There's a reason him and Alex have found success. The game has evolved but Jan, Jiri, Rountree are a jack of all trades. They don't hold a torch to the fighters of old.

Pathetic post is what this is.

Ankalaev knocking the fuck out of Walker, Lungumbiola, Prachnio and Cutelaba is forever seared into my memory.

The Anthony Smith demolition is nice as well.

Dude is exciting to watch.

Writhe in agony, TS. "Boring" is just a catch-all word for hapless pendejos with threadbare vocabulary who simply refuse to acknowledge a fighter's skill and merit for some odd reason or another.

Ankalaev Bless!

Many Shermanos are missing what this post really is about.
"Unique" is nothing but a backhanded compliment in this instance.

I don't see how he is unique at all. Good striker, decent grappler, not like we haven't seen it before. I have not seen him excel at anything, but he puts it together well.

I don't think e is particularly boring or exciting, just a fighter really.

Looking forward to him vs Poatan, hope the timelines line up well.

Good reflexes good counter striking.

He just sometimes takes too long to switch into gear. Very careful, downloading the data.

If his opponent comes forward aggressively he will find the KO. That's not how Rakic fought him, so it took till rd 3 when Ank was really starting to whallop him, but it was rd 2 when he figured him out.

Not only that but OP shoukd be slapped IRL atleast 10 x for his cringy threads. Still is one of the most consistently awful posters on the site. A very steady supply of mediocrity he provides, Joe.
He's awful, not surprised he's an anime loser.

that's not how it works. if khamzat trained karate when he was a kid, doesn't make him a karate guy.
Gsp still trains karate. He is still karate guy, and much of his standup is based on karate. You are just incorrect on this
