I find it funny how many who seem to be Alex "Fans" want to lobby against the idea of a fight with Ank. I actually found the Khalil fight "Boring" from the perspective that the result was never in doubt for even a second IMO. This narrative Khalil was "Winning" and therefore belonged in there with Alex is baffling. Giving away rounds while letting your opponent exhaust himself while you get their timing down and chip away so you can demolish them is exactly what Alex did. There was never any doubt Khalil wasn't able to take Alex down but the fact the declared he wouldn't do anything but stand and bang made his loss a certainty. He is so one dimensional that he can't even cast a shadow of doubt in Alex's mind regarding a TD.

I did find Ank's fight with Rakic oddly.....uninspiring but the fact he is 20-1-1-(1NC) with a 13 fight unbeaten streak is finally undeniable. I was worried DW was going to somehow decide it was not an "Unbelievable" performance and skip Ank again.

I am not a big fan of Ank and actually find him a bit dumb. His attitude after the first Walker fight, his attitude after the draw with Jan didn't endear him to me. As a fan of Alex's fighting style I am very excited to see him against a well rounded threat. I just hope Ank mixes things up and the UFC's subtle or not so subtle pressure to stand and bang doesn't have him kickbox against Alex the whole time.

i honestly find hard to see Ank as a serious treath for Alex after his last performances...
his mma style is kickboxing, no hints about his mythological Dagestani wrestling but people still see him as a well rounded fighter...

the problem is that Alex fights three times a year while Ank one time in almost three years: this matchup is difficult to make because the two very different schedules of work, as ufc 300 teached us, not because someone is scared (ufc included).

Yea one can hope but I don’t believe Ank (as you’ve indicated) possesses the IQ to mix it up.

If Poatan brings the fight to him like he normally does, Ank is gonna be forced to use everything he got instead of hanging back and potshot.

So even if you favor Poatan, and even I am doing that, I want to SEE this fight.
