Anime and Manga v37

real talk here. that was a pretty good first episode. anime is saved once again.

Is Keijo to Sport Anime, what One Punch Man is to Shōnen? How much does it revolutionise the genre? Discuss.

well episode 1 was better than i thought, and as odd as it sounds less fan service than expected...as in there was a plot and introduction to characters. Not sure if i will watch more though. Would likely watch episode 2 before Yuri on Ice episode 2 though.

Acacia went ham this chapter.

8 kings and heavenly 3 fodder were brutalized. Pair getting Ptsd and wants to run but Toriko still remains cool.

So, I'm not sure where else to ask this, so I figured I'd ask it here. I'm in the process of trying to go through all of Urasawa Naoki's works, and so far I've read Monster, Master keaton, and 20th century boys. I really want to read Yawara!, which has 29 volumes and has been finished for over two decades, yet scanlations only seem to go up to chapter 93 and they say (this series has been licensed) yet I can't find any Official company releasing the Manga in America.

Does anyone know if the Yawara! manga has been completely scanlated or if there is a company that is releasing it officially? I'm on chapter 30 and I'll be pissed If I read up to chapter 93 and then can't finish the rest. I actually started reading this series in french, but apparently even the french scanlators didn't translate the whole thing :/

Any help is appreciated.

Sadly no to the scanlation and it doesn't seem to be licensed. But it DID seem to get a DVD and Blu-Ray release according to this post here.

With regards to torrents, Nyaa and Bakabt are your best bets.

Also,

7o3x or Seven Right, Three Wrong

It's about trivia quizzes. Looks cool and the art is very good...Ok I think it looks incredibly cool in similar vein to stuff like Ballroom e Youkoso where the protagonist gets roped into a club he initially has no interest, but soon develops one and it's based on something way out of the norm(Trivia Quizzes and Ballroom Dancing respectively).

Thanks for the response. I think I can find a torrent for the complete anime somewhere, but I was really hoping for the Manga. It's a shame that the scanlation hasn't been completed after all of these years. From what I understand, the manga was actually very popular in Japan, and even one of Japan's Judo's stars was nicknamed after the main character of this Manga. I'm a big fan of Naoki urasawa, so I'm really interested in seeing how he handles the Slice of life/ Judo theme.

I guess I might have to settle with the anime. Unfortunately it looks like it might take months to download haha.

I need to stop being interested in hard to find animes and mangas.

Thanks again for the quick response!

THE STRUGGLE IS REAL!!!

I'm legit shocked though that so many manga that I started reading 1-2 years ago are getting or have gotten anime(like Komori-san, I Can't Understand What My Husband in Saying), or have become popular enough that it's only a matter of time(Teasing Master Takagi and Love is Hard for Otaku) since they looked and kind of felt very fringe or at least not the sort of thing that gets an anime. As for Yawara, popular could be an understatement since it got a live-action film, an animated film,an OAV, three games, and a long running anime series on top of winning the Shogakukan Award for best General manga. That's pretty fucking big.

Yeah, you'd think something that big would have some translations! Oh well, I guess I'll start a different manga by Urasawa:

Oh shit, I found another slice of life/sports manga from him

I'm surprised that was scanlated but not Yawara! wasn't...

Age is probably a factor. Could be out of print or simply a lack of interest from groups to pick though it has an incredibly good concept. I remember the manga I-Revo had a similar concept in the sense that the female protagonist was greatly pushed to excel in a combat sport(karate), but due to a chance meeting takes up ice figure skating. It was actually quite good and the art was great, but it got axed/rushed ending.

Trying to remember this anime from last year I think. I remember it took place in a sort of fantasy setting, but I can't remember much except one of the mains was a tanned guy with reddish afro or pompadour.

Edit: Found it, Shingeki no Bahamut

I finally got all of my HDD's wired to my great big rig and wanted to ask for a list of all the awesome anime shows that have come and gone these last few years so that I may watch them at my leisure. From my post history, most of you already know my preferences of comedy, action-adventure, slice of life and the such and am willing to try most anything that looks cool in terms of animation.

So a week or so into the new season. any stand outs?

That show was probably my favorite from 2014. Still waiting on season 2.

Even with Luffy tired I think Sanji is about to catch a beating if he fights Luffy one on one.

Who knows. Sanji knows what Luffy's like so I think he's trying to play him to get a sort of verbally coded message that him and Mami will understand, but not his family.

Any good recommendations for action based anime to watch?

I was a huge dragonball fan in the past. I grew up watching all the dragonball and even read some of the manga when I was younger. Yes I watch DBS and current on it.

Recently discovered One Punch Man and happy to hear a second season next year.

I've heard good things on One Piece and there's enough episodes that could last me a very long time, but not sure I want to commit to that and I heard it can be a little slow at times, kind of how DB adds in a lot of fillers. Just looking for a few episodes to watch per week.

Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood. Best action shonen there is. No filler.

Haven't watched many things but Drifter and All Out! are pretty good.

I'm also really enjoying Fune Wo Amu. It's a seinen slice of life about creating dictionarys.

@Yodsanan

Thanks. Will check it out. Anything similar to One Punch Man? I really enjoy the characters, action and comedy all in one.

The anime IS long as fuck and there is filler, but it is awesome as all ducking he'll. If anything, check out the manga which you can find colorized over at eatmanga I believe. Seven Deadly Sins you might like. Possibly Magi as well.
