Anime and Manga v37

And here's the rest.

Shen Yin Wang Zuo - Ongoing - [C+] - This full color chinese series is in the same vein of action-fantasy as many other chinese works (Panlong, Douluo Dalu, etc). The main character is really overpowered but it still managed to be fun for a while. Unfortunately around 70 chapters in it just totally falls apart and becomes a mess.
Yaoguai Mingdan - Ongoing - [C] - This modern fantasy is just never very good. Low level artwork and none of the characters really stood out.
Watari-kun no xx ga Houkai Sunzen - Ongoing - [C-] - Slice of life. Meh.
Sithrah - Ongoing - [C+] - This webtoon has really interesting artwork and I like the premise, but the authorship is poor. It relies far too much on narration when it really shouldn't. It's almost like the creator was a novelist who suddenly realized they could draw and wanted to make a comic without understanding the strengths of the medium.
Mononoke Soushi - Ongoing - [C] - Short stories, which I just don't like. And not even good ones at that. The artwork has an interesting style, but it can't fix weak writing.
Crazy Girl Shin Bia - Ongoing - [F] - Dunno why I even tried this. It's shoujo, and exhibits all the worst traits of the genre.
Usotsuki Ouji to Nisemono Kanojo - Ongoing - [F] - Another series where I was desperate to find something, anything, new to read. It's a shoujo comedy school life romance...yup. Don't bother, it's just as bad as the genre would make you guess.
Yamada and the Seven Witches - Ongoing - [C] - This was a second attempt at reading this series. Nope, just don't like it. Got twice as far as I had the first time and still found it completely pointless with boring characters.
Youkai Shoujo - Ongoing - [C-] - Ecchi with a silly premise. Had potential, but the execution is pedestrian.
Spirit Migration - Ongoing - [B] - This fantasy series has a really interesting concept where the main character is a disembodied spirit with no memories who can posses lower creatures. Unfortunately it seems to be taking an anthology sort of bent with its story telling, doing a sort of series of only mildly interconnected (at this point at least) stories. Depending on how it progresses it could move way up or way down in ratings.

Yay review dump...damn not a single A in there. I've never read the old boy manga, I enjoyed the movie though.

I've had almost no luck whatsoever finding new series this year that I've really liked. Looking at my reviews from this year I only see one "A" in the whole bunch (Ballroom e Youkoso, which I loved...and is also on hiatus) and just a handful of "Bs". Though I almost gave Inu Yashiki an A-, but don't think it's quite earned it.

Anybody want to make suggestions?

I didn't see it on the list but have you tried The Promised Neverland? only 3 chapters atm. it's horror based. hard to find good/greatness with how many shit series are being pumped out these days.

91 days. Not a manga series but an anime original work.

Takes place during the prohibition era. Mafia family feuds and violence. Pretty good so far.

This episode of MP100 set the bar too high. 10/10 indeed.

Been Binging Nanatsu No Taizai . I liked the Mangaka's work on Kongo Banchou aeven though the writing was a bit messy there , this isn't perfect but I think it's a good action read and I like the over the top battles.

Days - Ongoing - [F] - One of the most cliche attempts at a sports series I've ever read. Really it's just pointless unless you're totally new to the genre.

Worst sport anime I've watched in years. The dialogue and the whole script is just cringeworthy and cliche.

Wow you have Bebop below Samurai Champloo? EVA I could see (though it was too angsty and overwrought for me) but damn, bro.

Yea I knew it wouldn't be a popular opinion but I've always enjoyed sword/samurai fighting animes almost over anything else. The last show Gangsta I thought was really really good I wish it would continue but looks like it's done.

Yeah I love sci-fi anime and samurai ones almost equally. But Bebob was the OG so it gets the nostalgia nod.

It's a Tie to me , I think Spike and Jet ate great characters but I find Mugen and Jin to be every bit as compelling.

So Luffy is having to go almost all out just to break Crackers' armor. That bodes well for Chopper and Brook during this arc.

I could be wrong, but has Zoro even been hit, in the manga, during his fights in the New World? I guess we could count when Hody captured King Neptune trying to get everyone out of the Royal Palace or the Yeti Brothers during Punk Hazard.

Hopefully he gets a real opponent when we get to see Wano.

This actually pleased me greatly. Like I know he's tough and strong as all fucking hell after his 2 years if training, but taking out a Yonkou executive so easily just diminishes their threat level. Like he'll win, but he'll have to WORK for it. As for Zoro, yeah he really hasn't had an opponent in the time-skip era and would like to see one for him. Also, I'm really curious where Shanks and his crew are along with whose wedding they're attending.

Oh, don't get me wrong I'm happy that he's struggling too. Unless Pedro and Carrot are stupidly strong, which they very well could be, I think Chopper and Brooke are in trouble if they happen to come across anyone from Big Mom's crew.

@doomrider7

Well , I looks like Cracker isn't exactly finished yet. The Nature of his Devil Fruit allows him to craft a large number of Formidable Avatars to defend him , to me this speaks to the Mastery he has over his Devil Fruit , however he did give an out saying he doesn't like Pain, and Luffy along with Zoro have some of the highest pain tolerances in the whole series so this could be very painful for Cracker. The Vinsmokes arrive for the Wedding Festivities, I think this will be a big arc but I hope it flows better than Dressrosa.

For Toriko , Midora with the feels in this episode remembering Froese . Shimabukoro managed to make Acacia's 3 disciples more compelling than the 4 Heavenly Kings despite having a 3rd of the face time in this Manga. Makes me hope that somehow Midora survives this final battle .

So I have continued my sports anime binge with Kuroko's Basketball and I'm 41 episodes in and its just ok. This sports anime has much more of the random anime powerups and special moves

Ace of Diamond is my favorite so far

If you guys know any other sports anime I should be watching let me know

I'm still waiting for a full manga treatment of My Neighbor :eek::eek::eek:ro.
