Andrew Yang: Dems don't do shit for the working class

Hard to argue with that. Thinking Trump is a douche is one thing, but you need to analyze why he had such a big appeal to the working class in the middle states. Dems tend to be elitist and are out of touch with what's going on in Farmland, USA. I'm no Trump Supporter btw. The two party system and electoral college needs some revising.

I have always liked Yang. I rooted for him since the beginning. Non partisan, smart guy who means well.

Yang said in the video that Biden "is naturally a very unifying figure".

Lol. “The conditions that caused the problem (potentially) are worse than the problem itself!”

That’s a winning slogan.

I'll make sure I bump this thread when/if the SCotUS overturns Obamacare and 20 million people lose health insurance, people are denied insurance based on pre-existing health conditions, and there are annual caps on insurance so that if you get sick you go bankrupt.

70 mil votes against Biden wow, how many votes against trump?
73 million or something. But the topic is whether Biden is a unifying figure.

Trump being divisive is true but not the topic.

What a complete crock of shit. The stimulus Dems want is over 3x larger than what Republicans want. Additionally, Dems demand that it's focused on low to middle class workers whereas Reps want it to go to business owners to "trickle down". If Reps had their way the ACA would be repealed and tens of millions would lose healthcare. Same goes for all the safety net programs.

I get that there are a lot of ignorant rubes out there but Yang should know better than to use a few anecdotes. And I also want to say that if Yang does work in politics 95% of the people praising him here will flip on him. He is a rich, Ivy league educated progressive.

Let's see this same bill once they have the power. Or any number of innumerable progressive bills that formerly passed and they knew McConnell would save them. That shit is for publics consumption not to actually happen. Maybe Obama's first two years with majorities taught you nothing.

Yet another reason why I like Andrew Yang. He doesn't mind agreeing or disagreeing with either side as long as he feels there is substance behind the position. How the fuck Democrats chose China Joe over Yang, Gabbard, or Klobuchar is mind blowing. There was a few potential rock stars that could have risen and Democrats chose a corrupt, senile, racist, freak in Joe Biden.

Democrats work for the same donors - the owners - the Fortune 500s, billionaires and almost so.. Again, the Princeton Study proved beyond doubt that the Public has statistically zero influence in Public policy or where their money is spent. It's an oligarchy. According to the Princeton Study, we've absolutely no voice. We have zero influence on policy, wars, overthrowing foreign countries, domestic strategy, police militarization, immigration machine.....you name it! .

Fucking LOL treating a princeton study as the word of God. Where is the magical study? Lets see if it proves "beyond a doubt" to anyone with a decent level of intelligence and skepticism.

Biden was the biggest loser douche tool they could get elected. Bernie never would have won. Or Kamala. Gabbard might have been decent. They don't want anyone worth an actual fuck.

Shit, I would vote for dumb fucking Hillary over Biden in a second.

He passed massive healthcare reform snd made significant progress on the environment. What fucking planet are you guys living on?

If you are a member, or follow the DSA this has been an incredible year. Local Democrat elections are being dominated by progressives.

So there's still hope. It's still just a matter of letting the Boomers die off. Probably the worst generation in the history of the nation, but there's still solid hope. No reason to lose the faith just yet.
It will take a while. For example, Biden is not even a Boomer(46 to 64), he was born in 42! These Boomers still have a solid 20 years or so in charge.

This isn't that the democrats don't do anything for the working class. All the unions support the democratic party. The problem is that what they do gets easily clouded up. Now, compare these two things. One party gives you a tax cut in your paycheck and another party put in some type of policy or program. The tax cut is going to seem like a bigger deal because a lot of people are living paycheck to paycheck and are not informed enough to understand the impact of whatever policy or program was put in place. The non-solution appears to be the solution because to most people the best solution for most problems is incomprehensible. You want to know why the $15 dollar minimum wage or increasing taxes on people making above $400k is being promoted, because that is something most people can wrap their head around and not because that is going to fix their problems, which are due to systemic issues. Another issue like that is Universal Healthcare. Can the average person wrap their head around how much is being spent on medical care and how much could be saved under a single payer system? No and most people aren't under medical care so it isn't an immediate problem that they are researching on their own. So, what angle do you use? Pre-existing conditions. People can wrap their head around that. Pre-existing conditions is just a codified or packaged idea of universal healthcare that the average person can understand the benefits of. So instead of selling universal healtcare, it should be sold as pre-existing conditions, market caps on insurance premiums, non-profit run government insurance, and basic medical safety net programs because all those parts are understandable while universal healthcare too hard to understand in of itself.

Also, prior to recent times farmers were usually democrats due to aid and subsidies they received from the democrats. That all sort of changed when the socially conservative farmers switched parties due non-economic reasons. The optics though on farm subsidies, guaranteeing a farms survival even during poor seasons or poor market prices is extremely easy to understand. Anyone living on a farm understands the impacts. It is understandable.

This also gets to why I think Yang's idea of Universal Basic Income would be possible in this country unlike a lot of government run social programs. People can understand a check in the mail every month that is a few hundred dollars. It is simple to understand what can be done with that. It is quantifiable in most people's minds. A set of well run social welfare programs, not easy to wrap your head around the immediate benefits.

Oh I'm well aware of that. It's just in an ideal world it should be.

Unfortunately in reality it's going to be about enriching a few people while fucking over everyone else.

But maybe when truckers, taxi drivers, factory workers etc etc don't have any income it'll impact their bottom line simply because people can't afford to buy the stuff they're producing.

Depends. Over 50% of all US income is already earned by 100K+ capital owners (and 30% of all US income is earned by less than 5% of pop). Basically income share gets higher and higher the lower the percentage of wealth elite (with the 0.1% earning the biggest share).
And that income inequality is getting worse and worse.
Capitalists won't care if 99% starve whilst 1% buy their toys.

It's probably the end game anyway. Plus flood the US with immigrants so that everyone is perpetually at each other's throat.
Damn it sounds dark...Because it is.

Mind blowing? Why would wealthy elite champagne socialists elect a bunch of people that would help the common American lmao?

I guess if you believe massive tax cuts for billionaires and corporations, workplace deregulation and further erosion of collective bargaining power is "pro" working class then republicans are the party that really "cares" about the working class.

Go Big Red!

The identity politics both sides use and encourage is just a distraction. A design. A feature not a bug. We al know how the right does it. It's also a narrative pushed by the pseudo-left, multi-millionaires and billionaires, which have a vested interest in constantly distracting people from the essential class differences that exist in the society. Dividing everyone up on the basis of race, gender, sexual preference fails to address the major problems and the duopoly can continue to loot and war. Classic divide and conquer. Why do you think major corps give millions to BLM and other divisive "Marxist" groups rather than representative board rooms or advocate alleviating suffering of those communities? How about Bozos take some of his 230 billion and build technology centers and fantastic schools in the inner city? Or just fix the pipes in Flint? These communities will get nothing substantive only devisive words from Democrats.

So don't worry righties UHC, job guarantees, free college, living wages, end of oil, reparations, and high taxes are not coming down the pipe with Biden. I guarantee it. They may make you buy something defective from a corporation like Obama did though.
Honestly, you're mistaken on a lot of things. First, corporations are majorly investing in diverse boardrooms. They don't get pushback from their board, they get pushback from people outside of the company who dislike the idea of intentinoally diverse boardrooms.

Similarly, you're missing information on Bezos. He just started the Bezos Academy, a network of free preschools.
Bezos first unveiled his plan to launch a network of “Montessori-inspired” preschools in September 2018. The schools are built in low-income communities and designed for underserved children, offering them access to free programs.

There are plenty of Democrats who are spending their money to address important issues. When you disregard those efforts but claims that others are trying to distract from important class issues you're engaging in the very thing you're supposedly against.
