Andre Galvao vs Gordon Ryan

Galvao didn't look fully roided up for that match, if he didn't inject all his BJJ you couldnt expect him to perform well.

He wasn’t even facing an ADCC contender, I was expecting him to steamroll the virtual unknown. I’m not saying the guy was weak, obviously skilled, but Andre, fully juiced or not, shoulda handled it. (If he’s truly expecting to beat Gordon months later.)

Galvao is 39 that's not ancient and he has the advantage of actually doing S&C instead of body building.

39 is fine for being a hobbyist or Superfight celebrity, but if Andre truly thinks his youth is enough for a young pound for pound great, I think he’ll be in over his head. He’s got tons of miles on his body since they trained less intelligently back in 98-2007. Science, nutrition, injury avoidance weren’t as developed. I think Andre is gonna be one of those dudes hunched over permanently once he’s 45, and off the juice completely.

Man, I hope I’m wrong and see a competitive match tomorrow.

Can anyone send a PM link?

Thing is, even an out of shape Galvao should have put away that MMA fighter if he is to have any chance against elite ADCC contenders.

That MMA fighter, who is almost a decade younger, much bigger and longer, a 2 division MMA champion in the organization, and has 11/16 wins by submission (and nearly 90% finishing rate) and is primarily a grappler in his mama fights is a handful for anyone. We've seen high level grapplers face MMA fighters who did not have primarily a grappling style and they still had some trouble against them.
Rory Mcdonald is well rounded and not primarily a grappling stylist and he gave JT Torres a huge run for his money despite JT's future credentials and being able to supposedly "put away that MMA fighter"

Just because someone is leagues beyond another in a certain sport does not always mean they will blow everyone out of the water who isn't on their level

Of course not... Yes, you're right bro...

Just don't EXPECT to beat Gordon Ryan if you can't blow away that MMA fighter in a grappling match... That's what I'm saying...

LOL, don't tell me nothing, I'm still catching up on matches on Flograppling before semifinals start, I had friends from out of town visit so I couldn't watch live.

Damn, Gordon straight tapped dude in like 11 seconds in the semifinals, insane. Speaking of another competitor, I feel bad the guy Mica Galvao beat to head into the finals got his head messed with by getting his points taken away after the fact, dude fought thinking it was tied up so his strategy reflected that.

I think Galvao was ahead for 90% of the match, but taking points away literally seconds away from the final whistle isn't great.

Andre looking fully juiced for this, hope he puts up a real fight.
