Anderson Silva's incredible misfortunes.

he has been quite unlikely

1) hands over a fluke ko win to weidman
2) fluke injury loss in rematch
3) beats diaz in his comeback fight where he was obviously very nervous, pops on test
4) kicks bispings ass but spends more time pleasing the fans then caring about the scorecards and ends up losing

Oh and all of this started when he was 38 fucking years old guys smh at some people trying to discredit the GOAT, prime silva runs through every MW today

So,, for years the dude is # 1 on the P4P charts, breaking records left and right going 16-0 in the ufc with many amazing finishes being considered the GOAT.. Then BAM!

He has now not had a W on his record since 2012, his fight against Bonnar.

Dude loses his belt in devastating fashion, getting clipped on his chin as he is doing his "clowning" routine trying to outclass Weidman but backfires causing him to lose the fight and his belt.

The second time around.. he is given a second chance as he WAS 16-0 prior and he was being stupid in the fight - so hey, maybe he'll fight right this time and come out with a W?

Wrong.

Instead he gets this:

Anderson_Silva_Breaks_Leg.jpg

Damn. That's some bad luck huh? Not taking anything away from Weidman, it was a beautiful check.

Anyways so the guy finally gets two loses on his record the first time ever tasting defeat in the ufc. Surely he will bounce back some degree right? Well let's find out.. lets get him to fight Nick Diaz.

Well.. great! looks like he's back to his winning ways, right? Get's a UD victory over Diaz. Once again, wrong. Guy for one reason or another decides to take banned substances he's says to treat erectile dysfunction - but after suffering a devastating injury surely it had something to do with that. Not only that but many people speculate as to former PED use, calling his legacy a sham. Fight is chaged to NC.

Well.. now, he fight Bisping. At first he doesn't look very good, he is not attacking very often, Bisping is landed many shots. Then, BAM!

anderson-silva-michael-bisping-knee-video.jpg

End of the round 3, he KO's Bisping! YAY! The Spidar is back!!

But..wait. no. The fight is, NOT OVER! An issue regarding Bispings mouthpiece causes Herb Dean to decide that the fight will indeed go on, what does Silva do? He starts celebrating, very happy that he finally has a clear win again and jumps on the cage to embrace the crowd. While doing this, Bisping is given a ton of time to recover during the confusion and if Silva would have just SAT AND WAITED, MAYBE, the fight would have been called. Pure speculation but what happened was two more rounds.

Some say Silva went on to win these rounds, but to the judges it just wasn't enough. Bisping walks away at the end with 3 rounds to 2 and becomes the first man to win a fight he was KNOCKED OUT IN.

God Damn. That's is one hell of a streak of shit luck.

Can you think of any other fighter that has has such terrible luck? Yeah, this was all his fault but you got to admit.. the circumstances of his last 4 fights are strange indeed.

I used to watched a Silva fight and think in my head, "Okay, how is going to fuck this person up?"

Now I think, "Ok, how is going to fuck this one up."

EDIT: People are taking the "LUCK" term a little to seriously, I didn't mean it that literally so changed thread title to "Misfortunes". More of what I meant. So now, can we discuss the content talked about rather than the terms used to describe said content? Thanks.

Very true.... you have this, you have injured Dominic and you have injured Cain. But in terms of the sheer "what are the f'n chances???" I think Anderson easily takes the cake.

BUT we have to remember it's all balance. When he was winning he was winning in "what are the f'n chances???" fashion too..... and he easily takes the cake there too.

In the end, he's hit heights and broken records that nobody will touch for time to come. Long live the billyjean GOAT gruff.....

It is truly uncanny how he faltered. If you woulda been told this was going to happen you wouldn't have believed it in a million years. So messed up.

Exactly. Truer words = never spake

AS is not lucky, agree with TS on that.
However, he made poor choices. PED testing was poor and opponents respected his clowning. Add the fact he got older, guys is 40something now. Time to go Home.

I would say AS is the GOAT of his era. Which is over now.

I think we all got "lucky" that he was finally made to take an out of competition test for the first time in his career. Illuminated a fraud.

"Bad Luck"
"Misfortune"
How about "Change of momentum in career" would that suffice?? lol.

Well I'll leave it as is. But regardless of your opinion of the guy you have to admit his world has done a complete 180 degree flip

lol
So now being a proven steroid cheat is considered a "misfortune?" Never change, Anderson fans.

Ton of time to recover? You mean ton of milliseconds right because the round was damn there over.

Is normal.

Often when top fighters fall they fall hard and fast. Lose a little something in this sport and you are in trouble (speed, chin, reflexes etc))

lol
So now being a proven steroid cheat is considered a "misfortune?" Never change, Anderson fans.

Don't you know? Anderson was still obviously trying to heal a broken leg a few weeks out from the fight.

(Seriously though....Anderson got caught in his 1st random test. He was likely using throughout his career. I don;t hold it against him much personally though because before random testing the overwhelming majority of fighters were using. Pretty laughable to see people being so naive though)

The Bisping fight was one of the best things ever to happen, cause it makes it so easy to spot the people on the verge of being delusional in bias towards Silva

Apparantly now you get knocked out as soon as your legs fall under you, head never touching canvas and arm immediately up to defend yourself

Ive seen people say this arm up defending himself stuff before. I'm not saying its not true but he doesnt really look like hes blocking. It's more like how I would grab my face if hit really hard.....like "ouch, goddamn that hurt"

I think it's funny so many people are quick to shit on everything he has accomplished once he pissed hot. PEDs do not guarantee success.

What the flying fuck? The way any normal human being would see it that Bisping pointed out to the ref that he has lost his mouthpiece. Most fighters usually stop at that point, no matter if the ref is confirming the timeout, just out of good sportsmanship.

What Anderson Silva does, as we can very clearly see in the slow-mo replay, is notice Bisping's vulnerability and trying to take full advantage of it - going for his jaw, with no regard that without the mouthpiece, that may result in permanent disfigurement.

That's pretty fucking rotten in my book. And it shows that Anderson was not good enough to get the job done during the fight, so he tried to take advantage of a situation that happen when the opponent offered no resistance.

Now I can't say I particularly like Bisping, but in that fight, Anderson behaved a lot worse. And since I've seen a lot of unrespectable behavior from him ever since he became champion, I can't say that I feel any pity for him for anything that happened to him whatsoever. If you do, you need to have your Stockholm Syndrome examined.

I think it's funny so many people are quick to shit on everything he has accomplished once he pissed hot. PEDs do not guarantee success.
more importantly no one is actually posting the substance that was found and if it was blood or urine.

Indeed. If I was an Anderson nuthugger I'd be angry, bitter and butthurt as fuck... to the point of turning delusional to just to get through the last few years.

Its just lucky I am only a casual fan Anderson I guess.

How is it luck if Weidman checks the kick and breaks Silva's leg with his knee?
