to answer the thread question, i may not like the current US president or what he's doing, but i didnt like the previous president and what he did either. i have nothing against Europe; ive been to several different countries and have enjoyed my time there. but im done world traveling and America is my home. it will always be my home. but i will probably never trust the government unless some drastic changes happen.

I definitely don’t plan to retire here. I’d also definitely consider moving sooner than that, but it’s tough with my mom getting older and my current job and gf’s current job, and things like that.

It’ll be a sad day if the views and policies of the Right win out, but why tf would I want to spend the rest of my life constantly battling against these assholes? I’m tired of fighting with racist white nationalists, fundamentalist Christian zealots who want to make their perverted ass version of Christianity the law that I have to live under, people who are too stupid to vaccinate their kids, a zillion guns, freedoms being lost at every turn, expensive healthcare,the contributions of minorities being scrubbed….

America is cut throat and savage. There are numerous countries in Euro that provide a better quality of life for the average person. But I'm not the average person, and there are too many things here (cultural and natural) that add to my own metrics of what "quality of life" constitutes that Europe cannot replace. I do keep the idea of Norway open (where family emigrated from in the first place), but that would be decades down the line.

Europe might provide better quality exactly for not average persons.
You had also a bit incorrect euro map from EU countries.

They does have damn a lot of shit and problems but they might forgive a lot and they does provide in some cases....for example that you might get PhD type stuff without debts plus to get stipends and grants instead how to think about next loan payment term for this etc.
They are in some cases retarded but it isn't always like this...f.e if you are STEM type they usually value a lot etc.

You for example most likely don't know IT jobs market. Some jobs are not doable remotely and if about other stuff: they usually are looking where you are located in order to pay you lesser if will be able to pay lesser.


If about english, then for int type cusomers tech papers are in engish...usually.
However ofc they will attempt to pay lesser if you are located in according to them in poor country etc.
Now more new trend are Bangladesh etc than India....

Since Trump is currently in office, yes, it'd be mostly lefties. However, there's a significant portion of the far right that also looks at Europe with longing eyes.

For all its hysteria about immigrants and Muslims, Europe is still far, far whiter than the US. Even Western Europe. I mean, European right wingers are ready to establish a new SS because Paris and London are 1/4 nonwhite or whatever, but those are rookie numbers compared to pretty much every big city in the US.

Some conservatives could be down with this. Especially if they could move to medium and small towns.
