ALONE - History Channel

And we have a winner!!!

Wow, I was really surprised on how it all ended. I figured Teimojin was going to take it, but his fatigue became just too much. Then Kari Lee also finally succumbed to fatigue. And the last one standing was Juan Pablo! Who would have thought that his completely different approach to the competition would work so well.

Instead of expending energy everyday to keep a fire going and go out hunting for food, he decided on fasting and practically hibernating with his approach. He only got up to drink a bunch of water, and then would fix up his shelter and then go back to bed. By doing this, he slowed his metabolism and that’s what pushed him to the end. His body adjusted accordingly and he was able to outlast everyone else doing the common method of hunting/gathering daily and keeping a fire going.

I’m happy for him. First Latino to win Alone. Impressive!

Roland is still the GOAT of Alone, though. Now on to the next, Alone: Frozen. We’re right back at it this Thursday 8/11.

Haven't finished but in ears about guy whose name I can't spell. I would have been so happy for him to have won. Really gutted. I wish he was my friend.

I just watched the first episode of season 1 based off this thread, and damn, I'm in. It's pretty fucking good. I hate reality shows because they're usually over produced and have shitty and flashy quick cuts over a shitty music score, but this is well done.

I'm actually kinda pissed because now I have to put my 20th replay of The Sopranos on hold so I can watch this show through.

This season was pretty meh. Actually was the worst Alone season I can remember .

In actual tears with the finale. Fuck.
It makes sense. Even the bit with Roland talking about his dead mother in the very last minute of his season finale got me. These people are all without exception very tough and when they get emotional you know it's real.

Teimojin was very smart, the best hunter of these three but Juan Pablo was very well prepared. Came in fat as hell from avocado's and olive oil and fasted drinking a lot of water for a long time. Again very smart cause your body needs a lot of water during fasting else the kidneys get wrecked.

I think he could have done another two months. This season wasn't massive kick you in the gut till the last couple of episodes compared to previous seasons. But loved it. I wasn't championing him because I liked all of them. Bust still chuffed he won, really liked him from the start.

Did you cry with the finale? I'm still in bits.

I managed to keep it in, but just barely! I did have a big smile on my face while watching the ending minutes. But with the health check up and surprise, that was very heartwarming.

This programming is for losers... It's fake as is everything on tv...

Roland stabbing a Musk ox in season 7 was definitely not fake.not even sure why would think any of it?

Unrelated,
3 seasons in a row I've picked the winner on episode 1.

New season is half way through. A month in and over half of the contestants have tapped. Though it's reported that the total numbers of days spent between all contestants is over a year. Contestant named Timber has killed a 1,200lb moose, and the final 4 all seem very well capable of surviving. I live about an hour from Timber and have talked to him and going to do some classes or something with him to build my "resume" of skills and apply for next year!
