Jones needs to beat Stipe, Pav, Aspinall and 1 more serious contender before entering the HW GOAT chat

Overall GOAT it goes to Fedones.

Fedor has the * for never fighting in the UFC (he did fight AA and Tim though)

Jones has the * for pissing hot multiple times and dodging tests

NSAC tested him when he fought Mark Coleman for Pride 32. If you don't believe NSAC tested fighters in Pride FC Nick Diaz came up dirty for his Pride 33 fight which got turned into a NC.
 
Two completely different eras, each was amazing for their time period in the sport.
 
As always, depends on criteria. For me, I think Fedor was greater was greater because he was more active. Not enough fans appreciate the fact that the more they fight, the greater the chance of losing. Part of the reason Jones’ record is so great is because he’s fought less.

Agreed. This is huge.

Fedor entered many tournaments.

Fedor would also fight multiple times in one night.

He would also fight again just a month or two later.

He has fought 5x in one calendar year before.

He has twice as many fights as Jones.

Is this a joke ? They never tested anyone in Japan.

This event was in the USA.

I just don’t see how anyone ranks anyone above GSP at this point, it’s not even close.

2 losses in his entire career that he later avenged, retired with the WW belt after defending it numerous times, came back after 3 years to win the MW belt.

Silva and Jones both got popped so while I’ll still rank them the MW and LHW Goats they can never be the number 1 overall. Fedor is still the HW belt but taking all those L’s at the end of his career (Mitrione come on man) knocks him down below GSP.
