In the list is Khamzat missing?
Which makes a ton of sense, if you saw how much credit Anderson got when he was also in the top tier for GOAT discussions for his win over Forrest at LHW and moving up for that fight.
Many people had that move up and fight by Anderson as one of the strongest parts of his GOAT resume and on the flip side, GSP having no such moves as something they held against him.
So with GSP's win over Bisping being a far better win, in every way measurable, than Andersons over Forrest, those same people would now put GSP well ahead and that makes sense.
Neither Bisping or Forrest will go down as great CHamps but Bisping was at the absolute peak of his career as one of the longest consistently ranked MW in the UFC. He was enjoying his Prime run over his biggest names and best opponents when he met GSP and lost. He truly was at his all time high.
Forrest was a former Champ just destroyed and violently KTFO one fight earlier and dealing with depression and drugs and on a clear dissent to irrelevancy and Anderson helped him on his way.
Oh and there is this guy ^^^.
Not much to do but laugh.
Bullshit, all were defeated before entering the UFC . Most to scrubs. Khabib stands alone to be the only one undefeated inside and outside of the UFC. No damage taken . Absolute dominance in almost all fights winning almost all rounds. Nobody can claim the same, nobody. The only legit example you used to support your case is Brock, who is obviously an exception being a freak athlete HW and WWE superstar.
The rest had a much, much, much more legit career pre-UFC than Khabib, and/or as good if not better run in UFC prior to get the tittle shot
There is no GOAT!!!! there never was. There never will be!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!What? Why?
If they do we will get a new 'Who is the GOAT, vote' thread continually and especially after any big fight where any GOAT contender fights and wins or loses.
We all know how recency bias works and how after a big win or loss that person will likely win the immediate vote and so the best way to normalize that out is with a thread like that normalizes that result over ALL TIME.
An greatest or all time comparison should consider the entire time a fighter fought and avoid recency bias as much as possible. This thread does that.
lol.
of course there is a GOAT in every maturing sport.
GOAT is just a made up measure to aggregate various opinions to see who the most people would consider the best across all time.
As long as you realize that is all it is, that it simply is a way to aggregate all opinions based on what ever criteria each individual weights the most, to determine who the masses think and the best resume and career, than GOAT discussions are fine and make a ton of sense.
Some people get to anal about GOAT discussion and focus on what they are not thinking they need to be objective measures or they have no worth. That is not the case. They are subjective measures that DO have worth.

With all this Usman and Adesanya GOAT talk
This. It's embarrassing how it came from MMA circles and has been adopted into mainstream sport lingo. I hear GOAT all the time now. It's fucking cringe. Its all nonsense, all GOAT talk is.
The expression is like 100 years old, dude.This. It's embarrassing how it came from MMA circles and has been adopted into mainstream sport lingo. I hear GOAT all the time now. It's fucking cringe.

I dont know,I think we used it before that...the actual nature of the discussion though has gotten completley out of control. People really cant wait to take it from whoever they think has it,and give it to someone else...and the people who disagree with that spend way too much energy defending their original pick. Its a 30 yr old sport. Calm down it aint that serious.Well no, Ali kind of invented it in terms of a relation to fighting.
But that wasn't my point, I should have been clearer. It came into the mainstream recently because MMA circles were parroting the term everywhere. You would never hear the term or word in other professional sports talk. It wasn't until the Shannon Sharpes and Stephen A Smiths started taking it back over and you all of a sudden started hearing it everywhere.
The word GOAT was certainly never used as a spoken acronym until cringe MMA people got ahold of it.
