Crime All charges dropped against Jussie Smollett

Said this from the start, that the Chicago prosecutors, being supremely corrupt, wouldn’t press the charges and would negotiate a wrist slap. The real problem for Smollett was-and-is the federal charges. That’s where he fucked himself, by using the US mail, because the federal prosecutors aren’t going to be nearly as concerned with sweeping everything under a rug.

I mean, prosecutor's office already was trying to get get the police to stop their investigation before the charges even flipped to Jussie being the suspect after Illinois' state attorney was talking to Smollett's family as a favor to Michelle Obama's old staff manager (probably just an Obama name drop by coincidence due to dem connected folk overlapping in Chicago)

Prosecution office even after she recused herself was more than happy to drop the charges I'm sure.

He will fuck up again. Orchestrating this attack, the bullshit on the talk shows, his friends openly and vehemently supporting him. It's like he is enabled and emotionally unstable enough to do something dumb in the not to distance future.

Not necessarily. If two random unlucky white guys happened to actually be walking in that area they could have been drawn in and had their names wrecked for awhile. Then we could’ve had the fun of seeing if Jussie would go along with it and say yeah that’s them lol.

This is true. Thing is, he ended up doing more damage to the gay and black communities and anyone that's a victim of a genuine racist or homophobic attack.

it could honestly be that they mishandled something so catastrophically that it doesn't matter if he forged the scenario or not. Who knows but people walk on stupid police mistakes all the time. Hopefully he didn't do anything wrong and this is a just result...in which case he should get his career back.

Saying he already received community service (wut?), forfeiting the bond and sealing the records say it all. This was a political intervention for Smollett and his family. Either he threatened to say something that might damage Harris or this is just a very big favor for a big progressive family connected to a lot of dirty Democrats.

You'd be surprised. Lots of felonies, with pretty much the sole exception of homicides, don't get prosecuted as mere result of cost-benefit considerations. Of course, like with rich or famous people getting DUI's dropped, it's possible that the explanation is more apparently corrupt, but I would be surprised if that's the case given the publicity of the ordeal.

Regardless, yeah, I expect additional explanation other than "he does community service." That's absurd.
