If you have finished season one of ALIEN: EARTH, how would you rate it?

There are parts of it I like but the editing and plot armor is already killing the vibe. The whole thing comes off like a fan made series more than big budget. I think as a video game plot it would work well.

I was wondering how they were going to do Earth but it already looks like they went cheap and the people won’t leave the hub area.

The acting isn’t that great either. Why the hell is Timothy Olyphant in this? lol

I’ll wait until until all the episodes get released before checking back in.

I liked a lot of it, and can ignore plot armor issues. I will say the kids in adult bodies thing weirds me out.
Add in the god awful cartoon music that CONSTANTLY plays and yeah, its silly.

This is giving me Resurrection vibes.

kinda just makes it worse
Not really. The xenomorph has been done so many times that it lacks mystery and suspence usually. We always knew roughly what's coming.

Adding several dangerous new species for a bug hunt is long overdue in this series. We have no idea what these new species can do and it adds an element of original suspense and curiosity that have been lacking since

The ticks are freaky but we'll see where they go with them.

I think they're also going to ne necessary to be a "cover story" for the xeno. One of the biggest complaints has always been "No xenomorphs have ever been on Earth", which I've always found to be a a big assumption and theres a million ways you can get around certain characters in the movies not knowing they had ever been on Earth.

But now the story is gonna be all these specimens got out and caused the carnage, and only a few select people will even be aware tbat the Xenomorph was even there.

We'll see where they go with it but atm it looks like they just jammed the Thing is there for shits. Also the Xenos have a whole side line of forms that have never been explored. These side species seem very mid. I still like it and will rewatch episode 1 and 2 which is something I haven;t said in a while

wait, do you think any dirt on the actors in older movies wasn’t makeup?! that’s wild

Sydney Chandler is the exact same age Sigourney Weaver was when Alien came out, 29 years old.

Well, here's hoping Sydney isn't as old-fashioned as Sigourney was. Imagine having to edit out a massive beaver during post-production.

Criric reviews are for the entire season. Audience reviews are for the first two episodes at the moment.

Not the worst idea though. Critics are usually the ones who nitpick the shit out of any movie long before 90% of the audience has ever seen it, and their opinions have made the rounds within minutes of release on social media.

same guy that did the music for Fargo & Legion

When they announced this series, I was immediately praying for Bear McCreary to be picked to score this show. He would have been perfect.

The acting isn't bad, half the characters are supposed to be children, the other half are androids. You aren't going to be acting in a traditional sense to pull of characters like that effectively.

I love this show, but the idea that it’s a prequel just doesn’t make any sense.

They wouldn’t have bothered to land an expensive mining ship to check the aliens out in the first film if the aliens smashed into an apartment…

If works perfectly as a sequel to the first or second film, but absolutely makes no sense as a prequel…

weyland yutani certainly knew about the xenomorph before the first movie.

Are you saying that based on what you pieced together from the first two movies? Or is that just a presumption based on this prequel?

Genuinely interested in your theory too not arguing w/you

It's based on the order given to the nostromo more here I wasn't aware of.
