Alexander Gustafsson 300KG Deadlift?

I want to see a video

Me too. I see these dudes in the gym all the time doing deadlifts in the squat rack with the bar propped +10" off the floor by the safety bars. I don't know if that's Gus's game but a genuine 300KG pull is a pretty impressive number for a guy with his body type.

There would be no point in him being able to accomplish that weight lifting feat as he is a fighter --- unless of course he wants to injure himself?

It's possible. I've been power lifting for 10 years now and I've done 550 at 181 lbs (about 190 after weigh in). Granted I'm only 5'9" 190. Alex has longer arms than he does legs which helps him but generally taller guys struggle with DL. I'd guess he is about 235 lbs so Definitely possible, but if true he's gotta be one of the strongest LHW out there.

Dead lifting is very functional for MMA. It's not like curling or benching lol.

That is a very impressive dead-lift.

I have been able to get up in the 500 lb range, and that shit is brutal for me. 660lbs would crumple my lumbars. lol

Who knows if this is true but plenty of sources say he is one of the physically strongest LHWs there is. Mir, watching the JJ fight, etc

You've been powerlifting for 10 years and are at an elite deadlift number. You've put in the work for it and specifically trained for it. 660 lbs/300 kg at Alex's weight would be elite and even more impressive than 550 lbs at 181 lbs. Do you really fathom that he'd be there without specifically training for it? Not a chance in hell.

Again, he is quoted not long ago saying he deadlifts around 505 lbs. He doesn't even squat 365 lbs. There isn't a chance in hell that he's in the ballpark of 300 kg and I doubt he'll ever be.

Top powerlifters/oly weightlifters usually cut weight too, even when it's a same day weigh ins. They usually cut less than fighters though, most of them cutting around 4-5kg ( around 10 pounds )

Not to mention they are juiced to the gills and strength specialists.

Comparing a fighter to a top ranked powerlifter, even lighter, has no relevancy in terms of " Powerlifter X can do this at YYY lbs bodyweight so Alex who is a pro fighter who trains H24, can certainly do 660 "

For the record Brock Lesnar's best deadlift was 720 according to himself, and the guy was built like a silverback gorilla back when he did it ( just post WWE ) and probably juiced to the gills around 300lbs BW.
Does anyone really believe Alex who is taller and is probably 80poundish lighter can do just 60lbs less than Brock ?
I won't even add that Lesnar has the perfect build for deadlift ( widest and thickest back of any pro MMA fighter by far, uran-utang long arms )

Yep, I don't disagree with any of this, was just stating that Gustafsson is quite a bit heavier than Martin is.

He is an absolute beast. I have never noticed how massive his calves are before.

This. I wish he did. But he don't.
