Alex seems to be killing himself with those weight cuts. He should take a year off, move to 205, and fight a low tier fighter to get back in the W column. That KO was brutal and it honestly looked like the weight cut destroyed his chin. The last thing he should do is another extreme weight cut 6 months after a brutal KO, and suffer another brutal KO. That will be a wrap on his career if he does.

Izzy was a long reigning champ who was ahead on all scorecards until the last minute stoppage. It was also a standing tko, lots of controversy around the stoppage, myself included.

gsp is also 1-1 vs matt serra, i didnt see anyone calling for that trilogy.

These are the perfect circumstances for a trilogy. Rivals thru 2 diff sports with the one who came up short the 1st 3 times finally winning. Whoever wins the next takes the edge in this respective sport. I understand Alex was fast tracked, but the victory justified it and cemented that he’s a part of the top tier (regardless of not being the most well rounded just like Izzy). Finish the trilogy and see who has the edge in MMA, then bring on the wolves….

Izzy and his fans should be keen for a anther fight then but it seems the reverse is true despite is clearly being the biggest potential draw at MW.

I'd love for them to fight, if Pereira can earn that rematch.

Who else is there at 185 that wouldn't also be a rematch? Pereira beat him less than 12 months ago and finished him.
The only reason Izzy was up is that the guy that outstruck everyone else decided to wrestle.

Izzy was losing their second fight until the knockout. It's actually an interesting trilogy. The only reason nobody in Izzy's camp wants it is that they know he loses more times than he wins.

I personally want Whittaker to get another shot, but Izzy won't take that fight either.

I just can't see Izzy taking the fight. He was winning the 1st fight until he got TKO'd. But Pereira was winning the 2nd fight until he got KO'd being a little too aggressive too soon pursuing the finish. Deep down inside I think Izzy knows he stole one.

If Israel thinks he's the better MMA fighter, not the best MW MMA fighter, he should do it.
They both cut from north of 205, that much we know. So why cut at all?

He looked a hell of a lot better at 205 in Glory than 185. Just quicker, more alert, durable.

Not cutting those extra 20lbs will be good for him.
