Media Alex Pereira wants trilogy vs Izzy

I think Perreira is better than Izzy. Just like Izzy is better than Rob. I think Izzy knows this. Even though Izzy might be a better MMA fighter than Perreira, and Rob might be better than Izzy.

Izzy doesn't want this smoke at all until his dying breath. I think Perreira wins the fifth and the third MMA fight if it happens by finish.

I think Izzy by now its better MMA fighter but Alex its better Combat athlete definitely. Hypothetically he beats Izzy then Hill defends vs Ankalaev I have him better in MMA too
 
Considering how the UFC are already making Izzy wait until fall to fight again for the Sydney card and this also might be due to his MCL injury I'm not completely against them doing the trilogy next since by that point Pereira will be good to go because it would have been a decent amount of time since the KO loss.
Like the winner of Rob/DDP would be rightfully deserving of the next shot, however a third Pereira fight still sells a lot and is the most intriguing opponent for Izzy out of those three options we have.

I'm a huge Rob fan, but if he wins I wouldn't be against them doing Izzy/Pereira 3 next considering that would sell more compared to Izzy/Rob 3.
DDP might be a different story if he wins since he'd be a fresh challenger for Izzy and the beef between him and Izzy would help sell the PPV.

well, izzy did finish perreira brutally, like never before. rob never finished anything or got close.

the knockout was so bad, it could be career changing. it's like leon beating usman, second fight took the edge off of usman.

meh when you fight four times, u can lose one. If ref didn't save Izzy, he probably would've gotten deaded too.

Bas talked about this, how k-1 guys deal with things like this better, before the third fight when lots of people were saying Alex got his number after finishing him. Maybe Bas is right.

i don't know, but I think Alex > Izzy head to head, but Izzy better overall.

Hill vs Alex would be great.

in what world is he better than Izzy?

He has been hit with the same shot the last 3 fights, only surviving via a standing 8 count and the luck of the bell

Take that away and what happens? - he gets knocked out cold

And the first fight.... the dodgy ref decision

He can have his 3 "wins", but everyone knew the circumstances.. that's why he was still the underdog despite being "3-0"

He's not as skilled as Izzy, so makes up the difference through size. But now the weight cut that enables this is starting to catch up with him - he's 36.

I don't think he will ever beat Izzy again. He could barely do it as is - he needed to be saved twice in a row to get it done.

The trilogy fight should happen down the line

Izzy should take on the winner between Whittaker & DDP and Alex take on the winner between Vettori & Cannonier if both win then make the trilogy fight

If Izzy is so good and Alex got saved twice.. Why didn't Izzy follow up afterwards and finish the deal? All part of the game.
I'm not saying Izzy can't brutally KO him again next fight, but you make it out like Izzy is so much better and he's still 3-1 or 1-1 if you only count MMA.
Also the ref stoppage was warranted. Dude was out on his feet, but I'd have no issue if he'd let him go out cold as well so no debate (still ref did his job)

What fight were you watching? He was piecing up Izzy in their last fight, the only reason he got caught is because he got reckless and didn’t think Izzy could hurt him.

They’re 1-1 in MMA, Alex is 2-0 in Kickboxing, and if they met in the street non dehydrated Alex would make Izzy his wife if he wanted to.

I only became a fan of Alex because I’ve been following Izzy’s career since before the UFC, but realistically speaking Alex is the better fighter
