The UFC 321 main event was a letdown for everyone involved, but Alex Pereira has an idea on how to bring a spark back to the heavyweight division.

The title bout on Saturday between Tom Aspinall and Ciryl Gane in Abu Dhabi ended prematurely when Aspinall was unable to continue at the 4:35 mark of Round 1 due to an accidental eye poke from his opponent. As a result, Aspinall’s first fight since July 2024 was declared a no contest.

The UFC light heavyweight champion posted a video of himself watching Saturday’s main event. When the fight is waved off, “Poatan” is seen shaking his head and chuckling at the outcome.

In the accompanying caption, Pereira writes, “Let’s make the heavyweight division great again,” while also including emojis indicating his ongoing interest in a fight against Jon Jones at the UFC’s White House event. After stopping Magomed Ankalaev in the UFC 320 main event, Pereira also stated that he was interested in moving up for a heavyweight super fight against Jones.

Jones to Pereira: ‘Let’s Dance’

Jones, who was long the object of Aspinall’s frustration before vacating the heavyweight crown earlier this year, did not address the Brit directly following UFC 321. Instead, “Bones” responded to Pereira’s callout.

“Alex, I’d be down to bring the highest skill level to the White House,” Jones wrote on X. “I appreciate the respect you showed, let’s dance.”

Defend or vacate.

Strip Poatan off his belt if he is no longer interested in fighting LHW contenders. He's out there promoting a heavyweight fight while holding the light heavyweight belt hostage.

He can fight in June and defend again before a year passes without defending his LHW title.

Do you guys just hate the idea of UFC putting together one of the biggest fights they can possibly make?

Its gonna be the main event of UFC White house I think, they need an American in the main event and someone who will more or less be guaranteed to win, and there is no one better than Jones for that. And Trumpy likes him.

I don't like it, but it makes sense from a business perspective. Would sell well as headlining the White House card.

Meh, if its a one off let him, Anderson testing himself at LHW was great tv.

Doesn’t he want to be 3 belt champ
Call out Tom
PPV Points are dead anyways by then so why are guys clamouring for “super fights”

So Jones ducks the heavyweight #1 contender by any and all means he can...

...but it totally on board with fighting the former middleweight.

He can make his "money fight" (and be humiliated in the White House, consequently ruining his entire legacy) without holding the belt hostage.

Anderson fought at LHW as a late replacement. This is different.

When will Pereira defend his belt? In a year?

So wife beater has no problems with legacy fighting a middle weight ?

Alex is active he already said he can move up to HW and fight again at LHW without giving up the belt no problem. You sound like a bitter hater
