Probably not, but I'd have to see him like 18 years ago to know. Jan has always carried a bit more fat on his frame than DDP, though. Either way, I think Jan is only like 10lbs bigger than DDP tops these days

We can do 11 years ago when he made his UFC debut.

Genetics plays a role in where your body stores fat (saying this rhetorically I know you understand this) and I believe Jan doesn't have high body fat for LHW, its just where its deposited.

IMO this is not a human that can make a scale read 170lbs and get up and walk around the room, let alone fight. If we do a DXA body scan of Jan and Dricus, I would be a substantial amount of money Jan has more bone mass.

In any event, Dricus appears to be a middle of the pack sized middleweight and looks similar to Strickland in their 10 rounds together.

I thought Dricus looked noticeably more girthy than strickland. If you're a MW weighing over 210lbs on fightnight, you're not a middle of the pack sized MW. You're just not.

Regardless, poatan has fought and lost to smaller guys than Dricus. The "too small narrative" is just him talking.

Dricus literally just said he weighs 225-230 before cutting down to 210-215 and making 185 from there. Alex did the same exact thing its just he moved up a weight class. Alex is kind of out of shape at 230 as well.

DDP is literally leaner and holds more muscle than Alex does.

Yeah but bloated with muscle. Wanderlei Silva weighed more than Crocop they fought but he's not the bigger human, he was just stacked with artificial muscle. Heck Wanderlei probably weighed as much as LHW Jones at that time, but no one would suggest they are the same size.

That's an all time line and potential GOAT calls if he goes up gets the 205 title and defends.

it still makes no sense to me. the GOAT of what? how does him winning the LHW belt increase his chances of being the MW GOAT? it's an entirely different weight class. does it add to your resume? sure. but Anderson never won the LHW belt and people still consider him the MW GOAT over Pereira who won it.

There is zero area where DDP is better than Glover. Not boxing, wrestling or grappling. And he still dominated Jan almost beat Jiri even at that stage of his career.

And even in the Poatan pic, Strickland looks to have broader shoulders. Absolutely dwarfing someone would be being bigger in all dimensions, IMO. He's definitely bigger than Strickland, but people have a habit of often overstating the height advance.

And I agree DDP has a lot more girth than either of them...
