I read all the books and I like Cruises performance more, that being said I still think it’s dumb he was cast as Reacher.

A Cruise/Ritchson hybrid would have been perfect.
 
The first jack reacher movie is almost a perfect film. I absolutely loved it. The second one was not good.

The first season of reacher was just ok. Haven't watched any since then.

So I guess it's a draw.
 
How are the books? need a new series to dive into

Really enjoyable up until Lee passed them off to his brother. Then they aren't nearly as good, but still ok.

I am not sure how the Reacher character is in the books. I saw the series and it just seemed like he is a dum dum but things work out for him because he is jacked and handsome.

I can’t remember the exactly scene in the first season but he ends up getting a hotel room with a cop that lost her job for him. He just starts to get to fucking right after someone tries to assassinate him. That is some sherbro shit.
 
Alan Ritchson looks like he could actually kick some ass. Tom Cruise looks like he'd yell at you, then ask to speak to the manager, all while sporting a male version of the Karen hairstyle.

He also put a car chase in the first Reacher movie even though Reacher is a notoriously bad driver.
 
I liked the jack reacher movie with cruise better than the TV show, sure the tv guy is supposed to resemble more of the character from the books but I didn't read them , and cruise is a better actor. I still haven't finished the first season of the show

I forgot about that. I only watched the Cruise movies once. Reacher only drives when he has to.

You're right, Cruise's performance is better, it's just the books are almost all about Reacher being a 6'5" unit such that Cruise felt like a manlet DEI hire.

Well in the books he is smart ass hell, a reason why he got his own investigation team in the army.
He comes from a family of smart people. His brother was working Secret service focusing on money laundry.
He is huge and not a gym rat, got the muscles from hard work and genetics. There is a few jabs at gym bros in some of the books.
He is not some handsome guy more of a big scary looking guy.
Alan is imo too polished and clearly a roided out gym bro.
I always pictured him looking like a smaller Brock Lesnar. More fat on the body but huge as hell and strong.

Dude do bang at least one chick / book.

The books are good. I like em
 
Never understood the casting of Cruise. Might as well get him to play Thor in the next avengers flick.
